Unique Airframes Still Missing from the Game

Over the past year of updates (through 9/2026), Gaijin has done pretty well back-filling several long-awaited missing airframes (e.g., F-101, F-102, IA-58, Yak-130/M-346, Tu-95, B-52, Ca-27, Hawk T.1, Ki-93, etc.). That said, there are still many notable airframes yet to be added.

This thread is my attempt to catalogue notable airframes (service and completed prototype) that still remain to be added. I am trying to be flexible with my definition of “unique airframe,” but in general I am looking for a noticeable structural difference. The F-15EX is a significant upgrade over the F-15E, but it looks pretty similar externally. Different turret arrangements on a bomber may or may not count?

Included in this list:

  • Unique airframes
  • Significant modifications to existing airframes. This is a tricky subject, but we’ll try to be flexible.
  • Prototypes that were completed, even if they did not fly (e.g., Super Swift Type 545)
  • Prototypes that flew, even if they did not have their intended avionics/armament

Not included in this list:

  • Avionics/Equipment upgrades
  • Weaponry upgrades
  • Engine upgrades that didn’t require significant and noticeable structural modifications
  • Airframes that exist in one tree but not another (e.g., Ju 86, which is present as the Swedish B 3]

I think they are unique for their arrestor gear; add the De Havilland Sea Hornet F.20 and Sea Hornet NF.21! (Both UK)

ANF Les Mureaux - Recon aircraft series, modified as night fighter on later models:
ANF Les Mureaux 115 - 1x20mm gun in the engine axis + 2x7,5mm MG in the nose + a turret of 2x7.5mm, could carry up to 200kg of bombs
ANF Les Mureaux 117 - only 2x7,5mm MG in the nose + a turret of 2x7.5mm, could carry up to 200kg of bombs
[those 2 variants saw combat in 1940]

NORD:
Nord 1500 Griffon II - Experimental intercepteur aircraft, it never was armed, but it was planned to have only 1 missile (R.511 / R.530 missile), it was abandonned as a fighter because of Mirage III series.
[a later potential weaponnary could include 2x AIM-9B under the wings using similar configuration than Mirage IIIC at the expense of air speed limitations and massive Drag changes]
no guns were ever planned for this aircarft, because of it’s interceptor role for high altitude threats (Tu-95/Tu-16/M-4) using a stato-reactor+ a conventionnal reactor for low speed and take-off [the use of Stato-reactor for take-off was possible, but the output at low speeds would be minimal)

SNCASO:
SO.6020 - Experimental, Rolls-Royce Nene 101 (max speed around 1000km/h)
SO.6025 - Experimental, derivated from SO.6020, Rolls-Royce Nene 101+ SEPR251 rocket engine (max speed around 1.02 Mach, done with the SEPR engaged)

The SO.602X series were planned to recieve 6x20mm or 6x .50cals in the nose, but those never were installed.[could be early jets at 7.0 BR]

SO.9050 Trident II - Experimental, it was tested with radar and 1 ventral R.510 Missile (compatible R.511 already in-game as the R.511 is a later variant of R.510), it can reach Mach 1.92 (tested) and reach a 19500m of ceiling (24.000m in balistic flight - meaning to jump to to 24000m then fall back down)- Reactor + SEPR.63 (SEPR 631?) [could be similar to F-104A in terms of BR and use] - no guns

Yeah, I think I underestimated the armament, so likely needs a higher BR. But I just have MiG-31 family as a single entry to save space since they are a common airframe.

Lots of good additions here… but the MB.150 family airframe is already represented in game by the MB.151, 152, and 157.

That said, a TT MB.155 is far overdue.
