A special for the 5th anniversary of the Japanese Aircraft Tech Tree from before 1946

Today, March 10, 2026, has come, the day of the 5th anniversary since a new aircraft from the pre-1946 era was added to Japan’s tech tree.

Exactly 5 years ago, the Japanese fighter Mitsubishi A6M5 Hei was added to War Thunder in the Update 2.5 “Ixwa Strike”. Since then, no Tech Tree aircraft for Japan from before 1946 has been added.

That is why I decided in this post to present all Japanese airplanes from before 1946 that were ignored by Gaijin. Please honor them with 5 minutes of silence.

Thank you for sharing this 5th anniversary with me. It is very sad how many vehicles have been ignored. I apologize if there are mistakes on the list, it is really a huge amount of vehicles, so I could have made a mistake somewhere.

looks most interesting within all of those. Much copypastes isnt needed, but im truly dissapointed that gaijin keeps such interesting planes like this one from us

Really good work Grze. Hopefully this list will be seen by Gaijin, there are still A LOT of WW2 vehicles that need to be added. And I hope to continue expanding this list you made as well

This list is huge, and it’s missing a few planes (for many reasons, mostly my own absentmindedness). It can be considered the most (almost) accurate list of Japanese aircraft up to 1946 (with a few exceptions). Of course, it’s missing planes from War Thunder, but it’s still accurate.

As for returning to writing suggestions, I’m still hesitant. I’m still wondering if there’s any point in writing new suggestions when the vehicles being added are already riddled with bug. The Japanese Me 210 has the wrong name and speed, and the Ho-Ni II has a ton of vehicle model bug, lacks the correct missiles, and so on.

Honestly speaking? Just enjoy a vacation for now. And when you come back, you can decide what you wanna do. We can also observe how my Ho-Ri suggestion is received by the community (and Gaijin)

Even though I want Gaijin to add A7M3-J and J7W1 with a better engine, I do have writen suggestion,s but due to some reasons not approved(maybe they are written too simply)
