Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 (九三式水上中間練習機)
The Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 is a Japanese seaplane training aircraft created in 1934. The official name is Intermediate training machine in water type 93 and the short designation is K5Y2. By 1945, more than 800 Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 aircraft had been built.
History
After the development of the Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y1 training aircraft, a decision was quickly made to create the next Yokosuka K4Y1 seaplane on its basis. The modification was relatively simple, because it consisted in replacing the fixed landing gear with two floats. The first seaplane based on the K5Y1 was built in 1934 and was designated Intermediate training machine in water type 93 or K5Y2. Until 1939, floats were made of wood, then they began to be made of metal. The K5Y2 aircraft were used for the initial training of Japanese flying boat crews, and at the end of the war they were assigned to kamikaze missions, due to the lack of other available aircraft. The Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 trainers were the primary training aircraft of the Japanese Navy from 1934 to 1945 and were much loved by the crews. After the war, a small number of K5Y2 aircraft were used by Indonesia.

Construction description
The Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 aircraft is very similar to the K5Y1 aircraft, but there is a big difference between them, and more specifically the type of landing gear. The K5Y2 aircraft has two floats instead of a fixed landing gear with wheels.

Summary
The Yokosuka/Kawanishi K5Y2 is an interesting aircraft for Japan in War Thunder. This aircraft is ideal for naval battles, where it will be able to occupy bases and conduct reconnaissance of enemy units. In addition, this aircraft is armed, which allows it to defend itself and attack some opponents. I encourage you to discuss in the comments and to share your own knowledge on this subject.
Finally, I apologize for the linguistic and logical errors because unfortunately English is not my main language and I had to use google translator.

Always nice to have a floatplane!

Maybe its time for a sixth line? A floatplane line, since Japan had so many!

These were very important to the Japanese navy, especially as a scouting plane, but they were also usually tested on warships, with a launch system, for aerodynamical improvements.
