Hiro H4H2 (九一式二号飛行艇)
The Hiro H4H2 is a Japanese flying boat created around 1934. It was a modified version of the H4H1 with new Mitsubishi Meisei Type 1 (Myojo 1) engines. Probably almost all of the 47 aircraft of the Hiro H4H were upgraded to the H4H2 variant. These aircraft were produced until 1937 and were withdrawn from service until 1941.
History
After the creation of the Hiro H4H1 flying boat in 1933, it was quickly noticed that the Hirohiro Type 91 Type 2 Type W engines were inefficient and faulty (the Japanese had very long problems with the reliability of in-line engines), so the search for a solution to this problem began. It was decided to look for a solution abroad and in the country. Four candidates for the new engine for the H4H1 have been selected. These engines are respectively:

  • American Pratt & Whitney R-1690 “Meisei” engine with 800 hp (produced under license by Mitsubishi)
  • French Hispano-Suiza engine with 650 hp
  • Japanese Nakajima Hisashi with (Ha-1)

In tests, it was found that the best would be the American Pratt & Whitney R-1690 engine, which went into production at Mitsubishi as Meisei/Myojo. The new variant of the aircraft was designated Hiro H4H2 or Type 91 No. 2 flying boat. H4H2 flying boats would be produced in Hiro and Kawanishi from 1934 (?) to 1937. These aircraft were used as patrol and rescue aircraft. When the Second Sino-Japanese War began, the Hiro H4H2 were used extensively in this conflict. Aircraft including conflicts as bombers, patrol aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, rescue and transport aircraft. By 1941, all Hiro H4H aircraft were withdrawn from service.

Construction description
The Hiro H4H2 is identical to the Hiro H4H1, only it has Mitsubishi Meisei Type 1/2 engines with a power of 800 hp instead of Hirohiro Type 91 Type 2 Type W with a o power of 600 hp. A new propeller was also installed.

The Hiro H4H2 is an interesting aircraft for Japan in War Thunder. This plane, although slow, would still have a use in the game. It is an interesting piece of Japanese flying boat development, so it would be a great premium addition or event.
