Aichi F1A1 prototype 2 (AB-13) ( 十試水上観測機)
The Aichi F1A1 prototype 2 is a prototype Japanese reconnaissance aircraft created in 1936. This is the second prototype equipped with wheeled landing gear (as opposed to the first prototype, which was a seaplane with floats).
History
In October 1934, the Japanese Navy command handed over the initial assumptions of a new aircraft based on warships to Aichi, Mitsubishi and Kawanishi. This aircraft was to be two-seater and was to guide the ship’s artillery to targets and, if necessary, conduct air combat with enemy aircraft. These planes were supposed to have a short range, because they were not supposed to conduct reconnaissance like surface reconnaissance (E) aircraft. n May 1935, the exact specifications for the 10-Shi (Ten Test Surface Observation Aircraft) competition were delivered to the MItsubishi and Aichi plants (Kawanishi at that time). The design requirements were as follows:
- The plane was to be powered by the Nakajima Hikari 1 engine
- The plane was to be able to take off from a catapult
- The plane was to have a large central float under the fuselage and two small auxiliary floats under the wings
- The plane was to have an open cockpit and a semi-open observer cabin
- The plane was to be armed with two fixed machine guns and one mobile machine gun in the observer station
After receiving detailed specifications, Aichi came to an interesting decision. It was decided that two versions of the AB-13 (F1A1) aircraft would be created. One version was to stick strictly to the specifications provided by the Navy (prototype 1), and the other was to get wheeled landing gear and be a land-based observation aircraft (prototype 2). Engineer Tetsuo Miki was responsible for the design of both prototypes, who designed the aircraft as a biplane with an all-metal fuselage and wooden wings. The aircraft was also to receive the most modern technologies of its time, such as the use of variable pitch propellers and air combat flaps connected to the elevator rudder, and modern riveting was also used, which made it a very angry project. In June 1936, the first prototype was completed, which was immediately sent to the naval command for testing. The second prototype was completed in September 1936. The second prototype F1A1 served the Aichi plant as a test/experimental aircraft. In 1937, this aircraft was tested together with the first F1A1 prototype and the improved F1M1 prototype (version with Zuisei 13 engine). Both Aichi prototypes lost this competition and it was won by the Mitsubishi F1M aircraft, which was still being improved and went into production in 1940. It is not known what happened to the Aichi planes after the end of the tests, but they probably ended up in scrap.

Construction description
The Aichi F1A1 prototype 2 aircraft in a biplane layout with a metal fuselage and wooden wings. The aircraft has a fixed landing gear with two main wheels and a skid under the tail. The aircraft was powered by an 820 hp (610 kW) Nakajima Hikari 1 air-cooled nine-cylinder radial engine, which drove a two-bladed metal propeller with an adjustable angle of attack with a diameter of 2,896 mm. The aircraft is armed with two fixed Type 92 7.7 mm machine guns in the nose and a single 7.7 mm Type 92 mobile machine gun in the observer station.

Summary
The Aichi F1A1 prototype 2 is an interesting seaplane for Japan in War Thunder. This aircraft would be quite a useful fighter that could be foldered with the Mitsubishi F1M2 aircraft. It would also be an interesting premium aircraft. I encourage you to discuss in the comments and to share your own knowledge on this subject.
Finally, I apologize for the linguistic and logical errors because unfortunately English is not my main language and I had to use google translator.
