Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 ( 一式陸上攻撃機二四型)
The Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 was a Japanese long-range medium bomber that was an improvement on the G4M2 Model 22 version. The first G4M2a aircraft was built in May 1944, only 15 G4M2a aircraft were produced due to the introduction of better versions.
History
In early 1944, the Japanese command, concerned about the growing losses of G4M2 model 22 bombers, proposed the creation of a version that would perform better at high altitudes. Thanks to the better performance at altitudes, it was assumed that it would be more difficult to detect the bombers and they would be able to get to the mission target more easily. For this purpose, a Mitsubishi MK4T Kasei 25 engine with a take-off power of 1,825 hp was installed. The new engine required modification of the engine cover, in the G4M2a Model 24 bombers there were air intakes at the bottom and top of the engine cover. The first aircraft was ready in May 1944, and then 14 more pre-production aircraft were produced. However, the Japanese designers and command rightly concluded that the Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 was too poorly armed to defend itself against American fighters, Therefore, improved variants of the G4M2a Model 24 bomber (Model 24 Ko, Model 24 Ost and Model 24 were introduced).
Hei). All pre-production Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 bombers were directed to night harassing bombings or ordinary attacks. By the end of the war, probably no Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 aircraft remained.

Summary
The Mitsubishi G4M2a Model 24 is an interesting aircraft for Japan in War Thunder. This bomber has a good bomb load (by Japanese standards) and good speed, which is a big plus for bombers. This plane is also well defensively armed, which will allow it to defend itself against enemy fighters.
