Where should the former USSR nations go

• Case by case nation distribution
• Case by case vehicle distribution
• Outside of the USSR (sub or full tree)
• USSR subtree

The Central Asia ones should be in the USSR TT, Ukraine shouldn’t be added in WT or a subtree to Poland/Central Europe and for the Baltic a subtree maybe in Poland/Central Europe, Azerbaijan a Subtree to Future Turkish TT? Armenia would be better of in USSR TT, all this are my personal opinions

A former USSR state tech tree would literally just be the USSR tech tree, So it would add little to nothing of value to the game, It would literally just be a copy of the tree we already have up to 10.0 and even after that its just going to be mostly Russian stuff with a few slightly modded things.

Vehicles from before the USSR breakup would just be in the USSR/Russian tree anyway, So you would only be left with the small number of things made after, Which again would mostly be slightly modded leftovers from the USSR days and a few imports.

For the few things that are entirely new, It would probably not make much sense for the Russian tree to get depending on the nation in question, Since a lot of the former USSR states really do not like Russia right now.

This is why I think the Ex-USSR nations (for the most part) should be a subtree of the USSR tree, Since most of it the equipment is modernized versions of older Soviet equipment, or at least heavily based on said equipment.

the only caviate to this imo would be imports. Things like F-16s, M2Ks, Gripens, Rafales for Ukraine could instead be made into camouflages for their Home nations (i.e. a Gripen C with a Ukranian camo in Sweden).

Tbh I think if the countries had to be divided, Kazakhstan would also fit as a Turkish subtree since the two had a fair bit of collaboration.

Imo, the Baltics might also fit into Sweden but this would presumably come at the cost of other vehicles from Norway for example.

Apologies if this wasn’t a clear post but this was more a general discussion on the post soviet nations and their vehicles, I have no intention of suggesting every other former USSR state joining together as it would poise a similar problem with a conglomerate Eastern European tree (not enough room for everyone).

That’s a fair point since most nations (barring Kyrgyzstan and the Baltics) do have quite a lot of soviet based vehicles. One concern I personally have (among others) is space. Seeing how Romania and India are implemented currently, I could see the same happening with pretty much most of the national listed here, mostly relegated to fomo events.

Belarus and ex USSR central Asian countries can go in to the USSR IF there ever comes a day where the USSR needs a subtree.

Ukraine, Baltics can go to other new trees. Maybe the Caucasus countries aswell its a bit more 50-50 on those.

Vehicles of countries which were part of USSR should obviously come to that TT, but modern stuff influenced by NATO and etc should probably sit in other TTs. So I would choose “Case by case vehicle distribution”.
PS would be nice if Gaijin added the possibility to use vehicles having the same flag in one line up even if they are placed in different TTs.

Thank you for including my suggestions! Just so you know, I have a suggestion for the T-72UMG, along with one more vehicle for Turkmenistan, the BMP-1U.

I think some nations here could be included as sub-trees of larger nations, such as Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Belarus makes the most sense going to Russia, maybe Georgia as well. Ukraine is somewhat in the middle of east and west, making it difficult to position, but since it doesn’t have enough to be its own tree, it could partner up maybe with Poland. Ideally it would have been the sub-tree to a V4 standalone tree, but it’s too late for that now.

Countries like Moldova, the Baltics, and Armenia would do better distributed among other western nations. Kazakhstan could go in several places as well.

Ukraine is realistically the only one that could be its own tree. It would also fit well as apart of the USSR tree. As would the rest, but they would only offer a few new vehicles each.

I think all should just be added into the USSR as the tech-tree is called USSR, not Russia.

Depends. USSR, which is short for Soviet Union, encompasses more than Russia as a subject (even though Russia was the “main” republic in there), therefore it makes sense for it to also encompass tech of the now former states.

Sure, there are very vivid cases of conflicts that make Soviet (see as Russian) option for ex-USSR nations unfavourable. Yet was the USSR approached as USSR and not just Russia v0.1 from the start – we have only ONE ex-USSR nation vehicle, it being Su-25BM – there would be far less concerns on what should be added and where.

Still, I’d like to see all those nations’ tech, be it some Uzbek or Ukrainian T-64, Belarusian or Georgian T-72, Turkmen or Kazakh BMP-1/2/3 etc.

Just like that, I also think no tech should be avoided as well. While countries like Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Turkmenistan, Armenia etc don’t offer enough vehicles for a full line of a sub-tree, all their individual unique upgrades and designs should have as much place in-game as any other American, German or Soviet vehicle.
Especially including Ukraine which has more than a dozen domestic designs and domestic modifications which offer a very promising extention to whatever TT it appears to join. Overlooking it or saying “it has no place in the game” is straight up BS and pure bias (like “UA is Soviet copy-paste”), because it offers much more vehicles than some suggested countries – not gonna name them – can ever offer.

So yeah, it depends on how devs wanna interpret things and how they wanna extend the game beyond the “bigger” nations.

That’s another point why I’m hesitant to assign the former USSR countries to the tree in game. Surely between the different aircraft modernisations, the plethora of ground vehicles and the naval assets, one could’ve been added as a TT or squadron vehicle yet there isn’t one. That and the Vilkas going to Germany makes me think would the Kazakhstan flagged vehicle have been something like the Turkish exports or the Kazakhstan class, it wouldn’t be in the USSR tree.
