LAZIKA IFV: The Proven Platform

  • Description:
    • The LAZIKA is an upcoming Infantry Fighting Vehicle being developed by the State Military Scientific-Technical Center “Delta” (STC Delta) of Georgia. The new LAZIKA IFV features a completely modular system, allowing multiple different weapon suites to be added such as an ATGM Launcher, SAM Launcher, and Automatic 120mm Mortar System, and more. The vehicle is based off of the BMP chassis, a proven platform that has seen service in multiple fronts. Currently the Georgian Army is testing the LAZIKA equipped with the DRWS-2 Remote Weapon Station featuring a 23mm 2A14 Autocannon and a coaxial 7.62mm ПКТ machine gun. The DRWS-2 also features an enhanced FLIR system for engaging day and night threats. The LAZIKA comes standard with 8x 81mm Smoke-Grenade Launchers for self defense, lined up on the frontal arc. The LAZIKA is rated one of the most well protected IFV’s in its weight class, rated overall STANAG 4569 level 5 (or level 4 on the front/sides and level 2-3 on the rear). The LAZIKA is expected to enter service with the Georgian Army in the near future, with multiple variants expected.
