A NORWEGIAN SUBTREE UNDER THE SWEDISH TECHTREE

Here is an idea for a new sub-tree to the game. This sub-tree vehicles consists of both modified, self built, imported and spoils of war. 60 in total and 48 of them are unique of my knowledge. This sub-tree would hopefully add more content to the game, in addition to fill the gaps of the Swedish tree and give better options for lineups and mix. Also encourage the implementation of more Danish and Icelandic vehicles.The placement and battle-rating of the vehicles arent perfect here, but i have done the best i can. This is the Norwegian only version but more are under construction and will soon be presented.I just want to say, if the developers find this idea interesting, please also take a good look at my other suggestion for a new tech-tree, just to see that there are more options! (NDI- Ground Forces Techtree)

This is atank used by the Norwegian army for quite a while. this was a vehicle tat the crew really enjoyed driving, and that is must likely due to its speed and performance!. this has a 3.5L 4 cylinder eigne with 71 fit horses and is capable of achhieving a top speed of around 90 Km/h, that makes this vehicle a nice fit at this rank

Even though the Finnish sub-tree already made the Swedish tree quite packed, I see no reason to oppose turning the Swedish tree into a core of Scandinavian nations tree. Especially now that the foldered tree was a thing.

So, it’s a +1 for me.

I am not convinced of a sub-tree when a very large portion is just copy paste.
I see no interest in adding Pz.IVs and M48s to Sweden.
Might as well just add the fun vehicles as one-offs.

That said, probably a few too many vehicles, we don’t need 8 variants of the Chevy armoured car. But still a +1 from me just because we need gaijoob to turn the Swedish tree into a Scandi tree

Edit: Think I may just list the ones I think should be implemented, entirely from a gameplay perspective.

Morris Mk.II (provided brits get some equivalent vehicle(s))
Strv KW-III (both models)
M20 (would make a fun event AA/Light tank even with just the .50cal mounting)
Maybe
DAF 2pdr (would probably make for a better AA? Not what it was intended as but the 2pdr on it is the automatic AA variant that has slightly less punch per round than the bofors but a higher RoF)
Chevies (I think the two 37mm variants could potentially be a lot of fun, depends on the types of shells and performance they had. If nothing else the Rotary one could be used as AA)

M24 Chaffee (Served in both the Norwegian and Danish militaries. Give it some camos from both and call it a day)
Stormkanon KW-III (We still need the Finnish mod Stug anyway, this would make for a nice vehicle to folder it with)
Sd.Kfz… 4/1 (literally just the German Panzer Werfer. But pretty much the only rocket vehicle I can think of for any of the Scandinavian Countries except the M270 MLRS)

M7 (Provided US and UK get their own versions. Rank III and 4.7 seems exceptionally high for a 105 howitzer though)
NM135 (M113 chassis with custom 1 man turret housing the 20mm RH-202, should be AA as it would fill a gab there and as we have the SUB-I and R3 with similar performance at the same BR. Probably should be rank IV though. Literally designed for the same purpose as the Pbv 301 and 302 we have in game)
Willy’s RFC (YES! I can’t believe we don’t already have this sort of thing in other nations)

The Chevy trucks can be foldered, and some can as well be premium or event, they are unique tough ;)

Whew, there we go. Was making a very lengthy edit to my post. They are extremely unique and I am all for the two 37mm variants at least (worst case scenario they can be used as somewhat crappy AA)

The rest very much depends on gun and shell performance though they are all excellent bids at event vehicles

I wasn’t so sure wich tank to compare it with, so i choose this br, but iguess it would be better at 12.0 since it has aps?

i will soon update the tree, since i have discovered a few vehicles since i made this post so i can change the br!

For information, one of those will be the 2A8NO, they have choosen this over the 2A7NO. the 2a7no are still Norwegian modified so it is perfecly fine for an implemention

The 65mm truck and 37mm revolver are the best documented ones, so i believe the 65mm has earned its place? could eventually add some more over time either as researchable or events, mabye. the revover cannon i am unsure of the exact ammo, but it is said to be very effective at naval targets all the way from late 1800’s up to 1940, so it should work nicely as a spaa and aginst light ground targets

the semi auto single barreled 37 mm has much better penetration etc so it would be better as a tank destroyer or a light tank

It did, and we used different camos wich should be obtainable by GE or score

The german vehicles used by Norway and finland are different from eachother, this is a long story tough

No other trees in the game has one yet, so it could proably be nice, placed somewhere. a fun vehicle

Due to it not bein implemented in the game yet, i werent sure what br to set it at, could possibly jugde out of the sherman hull and the 105mm cannon

yes, a lot of nations has it, and it should absolutely be implemented but dang, many would go mental about it

it is self saying that the country of origin get it first, yes, the unmodified can be left out

If you research a little bit, there are other tanks wich are equally modified, and even more hehe, but this is a real good one

yes, it is a chanse it used some norwegian made ammo, and it could be that denmark used that as well, but yes

The F1 could be techtree and the other older variant could be prem/event, it has some changes and the most important is added spall lines

All the Norwegian CV9030’s are modified, and are different than the others, i have included close to full lists of their modifications on the invidual suggestions, but those can be foldered yes, check them out, i am working on finding more, and make lists for the Mk.3’s but it takes some time to do, when multitasking

Now, the Leopard 1A5NO2 is the one already in-game, only with a lot of missing mods and wrong model, it is an upgraded 1a1a4 and there were only 33x of those, while the 1A5NO wich is upgraded from the Leopard 1 norway bought in 1965, and have different mods than the NO2, long story

It is so new it is hard to say yet, but we now have another spaa, wich can either take its place or be together with it

korea will get it first, Norway also had 2 of these modified, the main difference being the APS systems and Kongsberg RWS

now, i am not after squabbling here, and much of what i write is easely misunderstood. somethimes it is understandable and somethimes exaggarated.

i welcome suggestions/advice like this and i will use what you have provided here to improve the Tree.

The tree would do perfectly fine without norway added, since there are quite a bit of swedish and finnish vehicles yet to be added, and that could make an issue, regarding space and who get what etc
espacially regarding naval, wich is the strongest part of most of scandinavia. other arrangaments can also work for the norwegian vehicles

One will see what the devs decide to do :)

No, until they stop doing silly stuff (like some of the folders they did recently) I’m gonna keep calling them Gaijoob/Gaijoobles!

Well, the vehicles are largely the same. The modifications made by each is very different. It was more of an additional note on the vehicle you suggested that we’re still missing another Scandinavian Stug and we could have both in a folder

This one is a case of Gaijins (there happy now? XD) sometimes horrible naming. The 15 cm Pz.W.42 in the german premiums is the Sd.Kfz. 4/1. Probably had different paint in Norwegian service though

Maybe event or squadron? ATGM vehicles are kinda situational and at this rank/br it’d be rather expensive as well

I meant no other tree than the german tree, now i haven’t looked at the differences tegarding the paint, but i tjink there are some camo differences yes. It is the exact same vehicle Opel Maultier 4/1

Squadron seems nice, since it will be around the same br as the american Wall-e, wich is a squadron vehicle

I made a bug report of it, wrote a document explaining the missing modificarions and issues and made a suggestion for the other, older a5no model, i believe those who bought the tank got “scammed” XD and deserves a little comoensation, decal, decoration, silver lions or a little GE

The M48A5 has a 105mm M68 cannon firing APFSDS.
That makes it essentially identical to the M48A2G A2, so it should be at least 8.3.
I’d have to do some more research on its ammunition types, but with the upgrades taking place between 1982 and 1986 and DM33 entering production in 1985 it likely could fire it- making it better than the M48 G and 8.7 material, not 7.7.
