Extended / Reworked French Ground Forces Tech Tree (including BeNeLux) (Rank IV–VIII)

Extended / Reworked French Ground Forces Tech Tree
Rank IV – VIII

Hi! I’d like to present my concept for an expanded French ground forces tech tree, including the BeNeLux subtree. This is similar to my proposal for an expanded British tech tree — in both cases, I am attempting to showcase the wide variety of unique vehicles available to these nations and their subtrees.

The tree follows Gaijin’s rules for tech trees, including no more than 3 vehicles or folders in a line per rank. This means I have had to be fairly selective with new additions, especially in areas like the light tank line, which has so many more options available to it.

This concept is by no means perfect. However, I think it’s a good starting point, and it gives us a single place to discuss the future expansion of the French tree! I will be adding to, and editing, this tree in the future — so far, it only covers Rank IV upwards, but will be extended to Rank I.

If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions, or criticisms, I would love to hear them.

Huge thanks to everyone whose suggestions I’ve used to discover various vehicles. Where applicable, I have linked them in New Vehicles.

What a great rework; I could definitely see something like this working. The overall structure feels well thought out, and I particularly like the effort to separate the domestic French development line from the BeNeLux line. Moving the AMX-32 folder and grouping the Belgian and Dutch Leopard developments together creates a much more logical progression path.

I also agree with moving the Leopard 1A5BE up to Rank VII. If it receives the appropriate Belgian APFSDS rounds, it would be a much better fit there than at Rank VI. Likewise, foldering it with the Leopard 1A5BE (MEXAS) makes sense and helps keep the tree compact.

One or two vehicles that I think are missing here would be the Dutch PRTL SPAA:

Both would be unique and add more options (the CA at possibly 8.3 and the GWI at 9.0 or 9.7 depending on if it gets its 4x missiles, FAPDS and APFSDS-T).
