British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

Strange way of doing it, having it instantly hit mach 3.5 as soon as it gets released from the booster, although the stat card not showing correct data is typical gaijin lol.

Perhaps it utilises a variety of bands it can switch to reactively, observing the incoming missile until it stops tracking.

Or just switches off whenever a munition is detected too close to react to. If you cannot deal with said threat the best thing you can do is reduce the number of threats that it could be.

Dont hang me if any of this is idiotic, im not versed in radars (Looks at the euro fighter thread).

The Rapier FSC search radar has an integrated “guard radar”. Basically there is a secondary antenna scanning an area above the radar, and if it detects anything which looks like it might be an ARM on terminal approach it automatically shuts down all the emissions until after the calculated impact time of the ARM; that was known as Reactive Shut Off (RSO). The radar radar also featured Procedural Shut Off (PSO), where it would automatically shut off for a set amount of time, at a set interval, to try and interrupt the guidance of any ARMs, which were on their way.

Interesting! Is it integrated inside the dome on the Dagger?

3 launchers, a tracking unit

Shameless self promotion but I figure this is in the interest of most people engaging in this thread

A lot of good stuff, but moving the entire 4.7 lineup to 5.0 is a staggeringly bad idea. I get that people glaze the Mk.VII now because of APHE but it’s by far the weakest vehicle in the lineup and nothing is lost by it being uptiered. All you accomplish is condemning the lineup to even more brutal uptiers and give them a near worthless APDS round as compensation.

The Cromwell too. Your reason to move it up is…because the other one did. You act as if the game doesn’t let you put a 3.7 and a 4.0 in the same lineup, and the Cromwells have to be in the same lineup or the world will explode. Better yet your very next suggestion is moving the Churchill Mk.III down to the 3.7 lineup you just neutered.

Guess i’ll push mine too aha

Doesn’t the L26 not exist as it goes against the naming scheme? If anything, it should be called L26A1 if the performance is identical

L23 is the one that actually don’t exist

L26 in game is L26A1

its just misnamed

“L23” in game is fake (I think its based off of XL23E1 or something similar in game)

“L23A1” is the actual real round

I already use it at 9.7-107 so it wouldn’t change much for me.

Also the AJAX is somewhat fun. Its basically a slightly better Strf9040

Beyond the obvious problems of things like the missing spall liners. My ONLY complaint about it is the god damn fixed 6x zoom.

What could of been:

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/8ml6DeUatT1S

After that, wouldnt say no to getting the addon ERA as an optional mod, sure, slows it down even more, but just ultra lean into the survivability of it as its not exactly fast to begin with

The fact you can still to this day kill the commander with .50 cal through the mantlet is deeply upsetting.

(that and the incorrectly modelled rear indicator and random disc sticking out of the commander’s sight which will forever haunt me)

Yeah, needs a good deal of polish, but its not overall that bad, certainly not as bad as I was expecting for Gaijin to make it

make a suggestion or beg the devs to implement 1x gunner sights then, alteast then we can have 1x-6x

Also sadly that would extend to Chally 3 too

It is tempting… or they can just start accepting FoV with reasonable guidelines for how to do it

Good way to get it down to 11.3 I guess
