tbh, its straight up better than the Stormer AD with its barely usable Stingers and the Stormer HVM with the spaghetti flightpath Starstreaks.
Though for 10.3 id hope for a multi-vehicle version of the Rapier using towed versions.
That would be a LOT of fun for the BR
The 2nd one is AI radar, used in NT.
Other SAM also got them
Damn. I must be dreaming then
I lowkey wish the Starstreaks updated physics was reverted as it’s incredibly hard to lead on moving targets
Apparently irl they claim that it can take down drones but ever since I got the tank, I’ve only shot down one UAV out of the 415 flying targets in 384 battles. Surely the ADAD could automatically lead targets? Then again a target the size of a UAV means a low probability of the darts touching it… Clearly a lack of a proxy fuse was an oversight

Oh bot controlled vehicles, fair enough
Yeah, the performance of the Rapier, apart from the damage, is far superior to the rolands, for example.
MMPs, or what they are called, for the HVM would be nice. Probably results in a BR increase, but hard to see that with the Tunguska at 10.7 still
Oh yeah, I forgot it could carry Mode A Martlet LMMs, those have proxy fuses
Yeah, I still dont understand why they havent been added yet. Might actually make it a 10.3 worthy SPAA again
I dont see why the BR would increase, if anything its over BRed currently
wrong version of the centurion, that would the the p1 version which was a prototype
Interesting, I was told that the Mark I did use either BESA or the Polsten and with the Mark II they did away the mountings for the polsten and stuck to the BESA for the future marks
I did some digging and found the dev blog for the cent 1, it really never had the 20mm… What fever dream was I in?!
Though I did find this:

yep, it Starstreak should be ACLOS guidance and not the current SACLOS, and the missiles should always centre on the cursor, rather than lagging
Yeah, but the efficiency of the HVM would increase if the LMMs are added, making it a candidate to go to 10.7
Yes and no.
With the Starstreak nerfs Changes, the effeciency has gone way way down.
So imo, it should be about 9.7 at the momnet.
If LMMs were then added, It would probably restore it too around 10.3.
For an anti-air role, they are relatively short ranged (6-7km max), and quite slow (around Mach 1.5 iirc). It does get a high capacity of them, and the lack of radar does make it quite stealthy, but I dont think its in anyway on par with the 2S6.
In an anti-ground role… its… tricky. Depends on how they model the warhead. They should be quite good in an G2G role, but not sure if they would outperform FnF Spikes.
(another option could be to just limit the max you can run at anyone time to 4. So its augmenting the Starstreaks, not replacing them)
I agree with you, but if they are introduced to the game when the HVM is still at 10.3, thats not gonna matter to gaijin (probably).
Yeah…
Wdym the P series prototypes half of them had 20mms.
What does the multi-vehicle version of the Rapier have over the normal Rapier? A new missile? A new radar?
You think gaijins gonna give us a tank thats able to go hull down with 8 ready to fire missiles with~250mm of pen that can ALSO kill planes and helis… Your dreaming.
No.
But maybe 4 LMMs + 4 Starkstreaks, with the LMMs having only 80mm of Pen, because its only a British missile and it would be unreasonable for any British missile to be good. That also produces 0 spall for no apparent reason, and is only able to reach a max speed of just above mach 1.
To maybe be fine at 10.3
Pretty sure LMM has a max speed of something like Mach 1.5, so it’s never going to be super fast unfortunately.
Sounds like a marketing lie :P
Just look at CAMM or heck, even the Starstreak
this is Gaijin we are talking about. The likelyhood that LMM will be able to reach mach 1.5 from a ground launch within the first 6-12 months is pretty slim. Also pretty slim it wil hit it even with an airlaunch (with gravity helping a bit here) from a wildcat.
and btw, Starstreaks cant hit Mach 3.5 at any point in their flight time using the new in-game missile performance thingy
Should be around 1200m/s right?
currently around 40m/s too slow
But overall that is kinda my point from an anti-air PoV. Slow but prox fuse vs fast but RnG
