I just think the AS90 would be neat. Not top tier material but still would be neat regardless.

Yeah, we’ve got like a dozen native SPH’s from things like the Sexton, through to things like the Abbot and all the way to the AS-90.

I’m going to be annoying and point out that Sexton isn’t native.

Yes, it exists due to a British request(so they help some, even more so with the Mk II), but it’s native to Canada. Being the ones who designed and built them.

That doesn’t give the yanks any claim to it; they don’t have any claim to it(not any that isn’t them claiming the world).

It was built for the Commonwealth and used by those fighting with the Commonwealth (the US wasn’t one of them).

RCH 155 would be cool tho. Also, Britian already has a G6 (in South African TT).

I swear I’ve read the UK using M40s when I was looking up the M44 a while back so that might be an option as well. There’s also the AHS Krab, which is a development of the AS-90.

GBT and SPG-70 are different, and were basically in direct competition.

SPG-70 was a joint UK-DE-IT project. GBT was vickers hedging their bets on SPG-70 going the way of the UK & FRG MBT projects, ie nowhere.
the easiest way to tell is the “Leopard chassis” and the turret shape, its much more curvy and has a tonne of gubbings on the back of the turret for the autoloader.

SP-70 has almost nothing in common with GBT lmao, its closer to PZH2000

It is not lmao. It’s the G6 turret on an Arjun chassis, with some mild upgrades.

Even though this is primarily about ground, I want to state how ridiculous it is that the former largest navy only has 2 coastal lines (also I want the Bluewater lead against the USA increase further).

Hence, a list of British vessels as well as South African, New Zealand and Australian.
