I swear I’ve read the UK using M40s when I was looking up the M44 a while back so that might be an option as well. There’s also the AHS Krab, which is a development of the AS-90.

The GBT 155mm I mentioned.

Comes in different flavours

GBT and SPG-70 are different, and were basically in direct competition.

SPG-70 was a joint UK-DE-IT project. GBT was vickers hedging their bets on SPG-70 going the way of the UK & FRG MBT projects, ie nowhere.
the easiest way to tell is the “Leopard chassis” and the turret shape, its much more curvy and has a tonne of gubbings on the back of the turret for the autoloader.

Close enough anyway I’m putting them in the same pile. On that same topic I think the Bhim is also related to GBT / SP somehow.

SP-70 has almost nothing in common with GBT lmao, its closer to PZH2000

It is not lmao. It’s the G6 turret on an Arjun chassis, with some mild upgrades.

Yea at like a 7.0 BR

Even though this is primarily about ground, I want to state how ridiculous it is that the former largest navy only has 2 coastal lines (also I want the Bluewater lead against the USA increase further).

Hence, a list of British vessels as well as South African, New Zealand and Australian.

You guys are really funny 👍
I really love the Brits and their dark humor.

Just for you:

Have a good one!

Two issues,

A. I’m not British.

B. It’s not a joke, but fact.

Though i love being a British person (mostly, but that’s political) i have found that the British tech tree, despite being quite a major nation (in my opinion) is being neglected by not only Gaijin Entertainment but also the very player-base of War Thunder as a whole. The highest ranking light tank in the Ajax and its complete and utter Rubbish with basically string for armour and a WEAK sabot shell in an underwhelming cannon.
I’ve shed my fair share of tears over this game but frankly enough the neglect to Britain as a nation compared to Russia ( Bias central ) is aweful!

The biggest issue with the British TT isnt necessarily what we have, but the deliberate state that gaijins makes it.

Like Ajax, sure, not going to be the best, but its barely half finished, no wonder its weak. This trend is apparent almost everywhere, they get things mostly finished and then just… stop. Often leaving major issues simply never fixed

I tried to petition the Missile carrier Coyote TSV several times but it was rejected every time stating its not a real vehicle. It definitely is, its featured at atleast 2 Expos in London and is currently serving in Ukraine. Certainly more real than some vehicles we have already.

Perhaps that last part is the problem as it would be even more awesome if it were introduced as a Ukrainian crewed vehicle under Britain due to our training and logistics alliance (probably asking too much). It also comes with super OP Brimstone missiles.

I’ve also wanted to ask for a Jackal 2 with ATGM launcer but this one I’m not sure has ever been built operationally. I’ve seen pictures of prototype versions at Expos.

Anything Jackal or Coyote please Gaijin. As a Brit and former Jackal commander, I’d be playing this as my main vehicle, talismaned and everything.

That is true and i fully support what you are saying.
The British Tech Tree is “half-baked” and needs some major additions in order for it to reach its full potential, like when the chally 3 technology demonstration was added. Britain became competitive again but only for a brief time with the introduction of both BMPT’s and the russian T-72 Arena also more recently.

I’d say it lost its competitiveness when they nerfed it really hard and now we are waiting for the CR3P4. But even then, CR2s would be fine if they fixed the many bug reports for them

That is true yes, though i have not been playing “competitive” Britain for very long all i can say is that the state of the nation is ridiculous and either needs the BR’s adjusted or other tree’s like Russia in particular to be FULLY redone at higher tiers or just make a whole new BR for those pesky BMPT’s to have to themselves.

Games should be fun, not torture! It is very hard to enjoy higher tiers and it just feels like a job that i never asked for! I would play lower tiers but i cannot grind affectively due to the RP tally you get past certain ranks.

For Britain, at the moment, I’d suggest the 10.3 lineup. It’s actaully very good.

Challenger MK2
FV4030/3 if you have it
Ajax
Stormer HVM & AD
Jaguar GR1A
Buc S2B

Is a really solid line up at the moment and you avoid the BMPToxic.

But the MK3, DS and Mk7 are also actually quite decent at 10.7, but do face the 11.7 black hole

Despite how good looking the CR2s are, I don’t think they are worth the effort currently, though that BR range is just a mess

When will they add Indian subtree :(. I really want to where they would place SU-30MKI, Rafale and M2K so that i can grind those lines :((((

I agree that 10.3 is a pretty good lineup.
anything at 11.7 or above gets destroyed by the endless hordes of BMPT’s.
The challenger series overall is very fun (even the WWII challenger) but the early MK’s like the Mk 2 and Mk 3 are not as disadvantaged speed-wise when it comes to the early-to-mid challenger 2’s that use ERA or just add-on armour in general.
for me, the best lineup is probably…
Tetrarch
Badger
Ajax
Challenger Mk 2
Hawk 200 (not RDA)
and Jaguar GR.1 A

I think its best to mash-up some Br’s even if it supposedly forces more uptiers.
