Hydroplane is a relatively rare type of aircraft in the warthunder category.
There are generally two ways for players to obtain these planes. One is developed through technology trees, and the other is experienced by unlocking some ships and using their catapults.
Nowadays, many interesting Hydroplanes have been added to the game, such as the SC-1 from the United States and the KOR-1/2 from the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, they are the planes that can only be experienced on ships.
The Gaijin developers have completed the exterior models, aerodynamic models, weapon equipment, and even BR allocation of these aircraft. But why not add these interesting little elves to the game?
OS2U has made a good start. We can obtain these aircraft by unlocking US level 2 ships. But since beta, only these two OS2Us can be unlocked like this. What a pity!
So, I think it is necessary to integrate the current seaplanes of various countries into their technology tree, so that players can enjoy these planes very comfortably.
Still the one on ships is Ro.43, which we can play only as a scout plane in naval battles.
PS a lack of multitude of the other Italian seaplanes in WT is criminal btw.
There like 2 aircraft made by Filippo Zappata, which are the Z.1007, which so happen to be land based, so we losed out on stuff like the Z.506, Z.515 or Z.501.
Even without our fellow floatplane maker we are still missin stuff like the SM S.55X or Fiat RS.14.
Lets mention France too, since they had a floatplane fighter design competitions, where stuff like as Loire 210, Bernard H 110, Bernard H.52 or Dewoitine HD.780 (Floatplane D-520).
You can also add USSR, there’s a reason the Be-6 is the sixth one
Floatplanes are just slept on, maybe because they “float” aspect doesn’t fit mechanically anywhere but in naval.
There are actually more, for NRB as scout planes for ships, Cant 25 could be added as a predecessor of Ro.43 + not a hydroplane, but I think catapultable Re.2000 should be mentioned as a scout plane for Littorio class.
As for overall list of Italian hydroplanes/flying boats, check suggestions :
