Description: The Fiat RS14 was an Italian twin-engine floatplane developed by the Italian company Fiat. The project started back in 1937 when the Italian Air Force, Regia Aeronautica, started a new competition for a new medium floatplane to fulfill light attack and reconnaissance roles. The Italian company Fiat decided to take part in the competition and asked the engineers Manlio Stiavelli and Lucio Lazzarino to design a new aircraft in order to meet the requirements expressed by the competition. The new aircraft was fully made out of metal, with a low wing profile and two Fiat A.74 engines. It was equipped with a single 12.7 mm turret and two additional 7.7 mm turrets, for a total payload of 400 kg. The first prototype was made in 1939 and made its first flight in the same year, showing its very good flight performance, but due to some technical issues, serial production was delayed, and the first units became operational in 1941. In service, it proved to be a very good aircraft, and it was mainly used in maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine operations. It even enraged various dogfights against allied fighters like the spitfire, and the machinegunners were even able to take down some of them. After the armistice in 1943, some aircraft remained in operation in the south, while others were moved to the north and used there. After the war ended, some units managed to survive and was used by the Italian air force until the early fifties but none survived to these days.

Why it should be in game: it could be an interesting addition to the Italian tt low tiers as no hydroplanes are currently in the tt aside the Ro44.
