Remember when the UK tree was supposed to get the Avro Manchester MK1? I remember.

how come the Challenger 2E isn’t moving? It’s the export version

To me, this change makes sense, but is also a clear demonstration of Gaijin’s foresight (or lack thereof) for the future. While the South African line is a decent support nation for the British tree, it’s also beginning to show its faults as Gaijin has started to add more and more domestic British vehicles, particularly light ones such as the Vickers Mk.11, Fox, Scimitar, and Harry Hopkins that lack a defined light tank line in the tree. As a result, we are now seeing the dissolution of a fomerly great subtree in order to make way for domestic light vehicles that could have been added all along instead of said subtree.

To get my point across, here is a list of every SA vehicle added during update ‘Ixwa Strike’ and the domestic British vehicles that could have replaced them BR-wise. Note that this is a largely inconclusive list, as I only pulled vehicles with existing suggestions on this forum, so many more options likely exist.

The only option I can’t find any immediate replacements for.
Challenger Mk.1: 10.0
Vickers Mk.7/2: 11.0
Vickers Mk.4 Late: 9.7-10.0
Either way, I’m sure there are some interesting support vehicles that could be placed here instead.

In conclusion, Britain never actually needed a subtree of any sort, and with Gaijin’s refusal to add a 6th line, they now have to begin bloating the tree with SA vehicles in order to make way for the new light tank line.

Dumb rework… WT had once a nice historic influenced research tech tree vision, but it now is just dumb dump everything in “nation” tech trees without any regard to historic development and at least some resemblance of “nations” with selected sub-nation tech trees in dedicated lines that can be combined with other vehicles in a line-up but are still distinguishable from the main nation tech trees.
At this point we can just screw up all nations into one giant tech tree as there is no more vision by WT to at least somewhat keep the historic development and environment the vehicles depicted were employed in/at/by.

Which is what makes me laugh, people are against the T90 and potential su-30mki because “russian copy paste” even though the Indians put a lot of effort and work into developing those specific vehicles for their home use (like a completely new turret and engine system, or completely different missiles) meanwhile seem to want to gobble up literal copy vehicles from the US and Germany.

None of the Brit mains I know. I have Soviet trees so if I want Soviet based vehicles I play that. I play western trees to play western vehicles. India would have been better not as a set sub tree imo but shared in the trees of the tanks origins.
