Idea to solve CAS problem in RB

This is the dumbest idea I’ve ever seen in my life hahaha, you want to fight the CAS by making it easier? That makes no sense. Just double the number of spawn points required to spawn planes and the problem will be solved.

Why it doesnt makes sense? Please share with us this ancient, secret knowledge

Btw in your solution, nothing will change, players will just have to use more SP to revenge bomb you…

Even if you tried to clarify your response - you still assume that passionate pilots would go for tanks and you mix up CAP with CAS - totally different objectives.

  1. The idea behind a few first spawn slots for planes without A2G loadout does not enforce any pilots to play tanks - either they earn respawn points by killing enemy CAS or enemy CAP or not.

  2. The goal is to make it more challenging to use CAS as even well experienced tankers struggle to fight planes with tanks; using own respawns with SPAAs or fighters won’t be necessary if there would be an incentive for dedicated pilots to protect own ground units or own CAS planes.

  3. So dedicated tankers could focus on tanks and dedicated pilots can focus on planes.

  4. Again, there is no challenge to kill enemy ground units or players with a plane; if you fear that 1st spawns can be (or will be) abused - just disable damage to everything what is not a plane or an SPAA - for 10-15 minutes.

The option for dedicated tankers to respawn in a CAS plane to crack tough targets or to simply revenge bomb is still there and won’t be touched - and to have this option is a main driver for a hell of players to play Ground RB.

And much more important for gaijin to sell premium aircraft optimized for ground attacks - that is why nobody is really interested to reduce the usage of planes. Again, any proposal to take something away is a dead end, you should focus on adding options…

Not at all … maybe you get less planes but those who spawn in a plane … expect them to be more then good in what they do. Double the SP will not prevent really excellent pilots from doing what they are able to do now.

But it would prevent the kamikaze strategy of rushing a capture point and killing someone by exposing oneself only to return by plane as soon as possible; at the very least, it would have to be useful on the ground to be able to use a plane in battle. The issue isn’t the Close Air Support (CAS), it’s how easy it is to spawn an airplane and simply make the game boring

Now I see you totally missed my point

I DONT WANT passionate pilots to play GRB just to play planes, I want to give tank players ability to spawn air as first choice with reduced cost of spawning them.

Why?

Because
a) you, as a tank will be more prepared to planes in the air at the start of the battle
b) AA player mains will be able to spawn with AA as first choice cause aircrafts will be in the air already and they will have role to fulfill

Please, read my topic again

Besides

I dont want to make CAS more challenging, but more fair in this way that players will know that planes will be in the air right at the start of the battle, and players who will die against some tanks, wont be able to instant respawn as a plane to revenge bombing

They cant focus on that, cause some guy they killed 15 secs ago is rushing to bomb them, but with my solutions tankers will know they have AA in team and will be prepared for bombers from the start

It will be a challenge with enemy team prepared for you from the start, not after you die, respawn as aircraft and kill some guys

I often do that to kill CAS airplanes

Can you not do that in ARB ?

Not a good idea as its not aplicable to all BRs.

At lower BRs planes can deal with tanks using MGs alone especially planes with .50 cals. There was an North Africa event where German side didn’t have any SPAA and allied side had P-40s as first spawn. Planes destroyed half of the team just with .50 cals.

I read it twice and frankly spoken, there is no need to read it a 3rd time.

Just use the forum search - you find a hell of almost identical posts. With all respect - your reasoning for your proposal “being prepared” and “support AA mains” is and was rather weak.

As long as the game play for a lot of players boils down to earn spawn points for a plane as fast as possible in order to bomb tanks - your idea of limiting planes won’t fly as outlined before - players and gaijin see this as a benefit.

To counter planes you need planes.

If you want to avoid that you get bombed after 4 minutes - you need own fighters up to intercept them. Dedicated pilots are best suited to protect own tanks & planes - as a hell of players simply want to play tanks and are not interested in becoming part-time pilots.

So if the current game play leaves you with the choice of spawning a fighter or a plane with a massive A2G loadout - the majority uses the CAS plane as killing a tank is usually much easier than killing a plane.

With providing a few (2-4) slots for dedicated pilots the CAS spawn would be more risky as the whole process chain (spawn a plane & bomb a tank - die & repeat) might be stopped before it even started. I recently saw a replay of a friend dying 3 times in a row by the same chopper -the chopper died also 3 times, somehow braindead.

In any case - for me it looks like we stuck in a loop. Have a good time!

Valid point. The fact alone is prove enough that wt made tanks easier to kill by planes than they actually were irl - and planes with incredibly high hit probabilities (thanks to mouse aim) can be devastating even without A2G loadout.

You might consider this:

Have a good one!

This could work but i think a simpler solution would include:

  • increase rewards for AA in general and maybe even add passive rewards.

  • for the upper tiers, add AI SAM systems in the game. This will help mitigate people who climb way up to laser bomb tanks and will force them low again.

It also gives a passive objective for aircraft to relieve ground forces.

It may not entirely help the issues but it could mitigate them.

Very true and many people are missing the point here.

Evidence dictates that if CAS was as effective in real life as in War Thunder makes out it is in lower BR then WW2 would have been over in late 43. The common belief vs the true effectiveness of CAS is generally overstated compared to what statistics show.

Heavy bombing is a different thing all together and was devastating to especially to the Germans when they had no air support. There was nothing they could do but sit in hiding and hope for the best which is all we can do in game as it happens.

Later CAS is truly devastating as we saw in Iraq and the withdrawal from Kuwait. I don’t think a highway of death scenario makes good game play somehow.
My point there is if Gaijin wants to implement modern CAS then it will have break links with reality in order to maintain balanced and enjoyable game play.

The fact is also that big modern armies don’t face other big modern armies but develop their weapons to seal club the little guy. Many experts are saying that the USA would disintegrate in a modern war with Russia just like the Ukraine are or even vice versa if USA would have invaded Ukraine.

Modern war is not about fair balanced competition and needs to be fictionalized to make a good game. CAS was never about engaging tanks fairly.

Idea to solve CAS problem in RB

That’s assuming there is a problem. The responses to all the other CAS related posts made here leaves the impression that the vast majority of forum users do not view this as a problem.

No because in ARB killing cas airplanes is lame. They are low, very slow and you just loose your altitude.
While killing cas in tank battles can help my team and is generally more fun. + I can spawn tank…

Any poll on forum shows that there is problem with CAS

Lol, meanwhile the biggest poll asking for a No CAS game mode cannot even get a majority. Think about that. If regular CAS included ground RB would still exist on top of a No-CAS ground RB, the community still does not think that should be allowed.

The Anti-CAS peeps failed to get a majority in the biggest poll on a no-CAS ground mode, which is fairly simple request. Imagine that.

Why does it need to have majority? 50% is enough

And it is not the biggest poll ;)

Because if something as simple as having a non-CAS ground mode cannot get a majority, then CAS isn’t a problem. They’re not asking for the current ground mode to be changed. Just that Gaijin adds a new mode without CAS. And something so simple as that cannot garner 51%. What message does that send to Gaijin?

And it’s the biggest poll in this forum regarding the topic is it not?

For You, the poll with majority wanting it and having bigger number of votes
