Maus at 3.7/4.0 and lower in BR than the SAV 1946, let’s go!
Version 2.3!
Historical Battle Rating - Check in #1
not much to say, got the A-10A, A-10A Late, and A-10C done, fixed the changelog to reflect the forums own suggestion guides, here Sorry in advance poor SM when I make this into a suggestion
I will strive to get at least a book for a source, and if I have to use websites try to have three or more.
Once again stuff is subject to change, especially as I am debating whether or not to have armaments be a main factor in the outcome of the research, A-10A Late is my first example of choosing a BR with weaponry being a main role in the decision.
And please, feel free to correct me on anything, new sources are always welcome as long as they follow Gaijins rules (No Classified Documents!)
What would the years be based on? When the vehicle first entered service? Or when it left service? Because there is a big gap there. Or perhaps median service life? Also what about vehicles that saw service in different nations? Say Pz IVs that were sent to the middle east in the '60s? Regarding service life, what about vehicles that were in service for so long that this system wouldn’t result in them seeing all their true years if it was just one battle rating? Like soviet tanks from the mid-cold war in service so long that they’re being used today in 2026?
Also this isn’t getting into ammunition and missiles as well. What about tanks introduced in the '50s in game but are given '70s ammo? Or jets with later missiles as an option than they entered service with? Or perhaps jets that have missiles that are obsolete to what they entered service with, with a-historically weak armaments as the proper ones are omitted? Same with equipment, like jets that didn’t have RWR when they entered service having RWR and stuff in game, because they’re later modifications? Or model of vehicles that are not accurate to their earlier models, ex. the IS-3 being a later-style model than the original '45 version?
I am not against historical matchmaking as an optional thing, but I think just adapting the current BR system for it isn’t detailed enough to make a proper historical matchup, (much less one even semi-balanced), so I just wanted to bring up these potential flaws and questions regarding it.
