What would the years be based on? When the vehicle first entered service? Or when it left service? Because there is a big gap there.
Battle Ratings are based off the vehicles in-game configuration when it was first put into service, some things are different and explained below.
Also what about vehicles that saw service in different nations? Say Pz IVs that were sent to the middle east in the '60s? Regarding service life,
I am only taking into account the in-game vehicles operator country, some vehicles of Japan and Italy for example, will be at higher BRs, obviously this can be a problem, currently I don’t know what it means but I don’t think it will be too much of a problem.
what about vehicles that were in service for so long that this system wouldn’t result in them seeing all their true years if it was just one battle rating? Like soviet tanks from the mid-cold war in service so long that they’re being used today in 2026?
This will be purely dependent on the player (unless we get a vehicle that represent such an instance). Basically, it will just be the same thing as taking an M22 or BT-5/7 to top tier to get God Mode
Also this isn’t getting into ammunition and missiles as well. What about tanks introduced in the '50s in game but are given '70s ammo?
Yes, I am painfully aware of the ammunition situation, currently I have only applied this to the A-10A Late in regard to its AGM-65D, currently I am still testing the waters around this and do plan to add Ammunition (and mods) separately to the list. As of currently it just depends, I do have some ideas how to solve this though.
Or perhaps jets that have missiles that are obsolete to what they entered service with, with a-historically weak armaments as the proper ones are omitted?
Yeah, unfortunately I can’t do anything about this, although I don’t know of any example that would be like this.
Same with equipment, like jets that didn’t have RWR when they entered service having RWR and stuff in game, because they’re later modifications? Or model of vehicles that are not accurate to their earlier models, ex. the IS-3 being a later-style model than the original '45 version?
I am glad you asked this, take the A129 Internation (p), I could have just picked the date it was first flown or something like that but no, the in-game configuration has Sand filters and a Lucas 12.7mm Turret, both of these were added in 1992 so that’s where I placed it. So, for the IS-3 it probably won’t be the '45 version, and as for the RWR usually that indicates the plane was upgraded in some way, and I would try to figure out when.
