No, they don’t play test, or test anything really. Their testing is… questionable considering the same old bugs keep coming back again and again.
The Colian’s APHE seems to have a bug, it will randomly ignore armor, even IS4,Hori, and T32’s front armor, sometimes could be pen when they are reversing
It seems to be the issue where when a tank is moving, its armour just doesn’t matter and rounds go through is back from the last update.

Issue occurs when the target is moving away from you, regardless of hull orentiation.
It affects every API, APHE, APHEI, SAPHEI, etc. shell.

I think they messed up something with explosive mass. I tested on T44 tank. Even though Coelian cannot pen turret side expolsions are so severe track gets destroyed. I don’t think 22g Pent (37,4 g TNT) of explosive mass would do such a damage.

There’s nothing physically stopping them from loading more such rounds beyond doctrinal preference AFAIK.
Plus, even rounds that physically don’t fit the ammo racks haven’t stopped Gaijin before. M48A2GA2 has APFSDS its ammo racks could not fit, even though the gun could fire it.

How do you KNOW there is not physical/mechanical reason they historically don’t carry more of the AP ammo.
And the other reason they should not be carrying more… balance, and the fact they were not designed for that purpose.
So that’s why an XM246 killed my Object279 from 2KM away after the patch dropped. We were both shocked.
How do you know if there is a limitation?
The only thing that comes to mind is different muzzle velocities and high rate of fire.
The source I have says “thirty amour-piercing rounds are held in an internal magazine for use against ground targets.”
Uses the term “magazine” instead of “belt” so that suggests to me there would be a limitation.
And the fact that it carries such a (relatively) low amount of AP indicates it would be a secondary function, not a main function.
For the Coelian specifically?
Well top speed isn’t stellar, either. Its a governed Panther. For an SPAA its slow.
You can’t force other players to play the way you want. You also shouldn’t get mad at them for not playing into your fantasy. At the end of the day, people play how they want, just like how you do, so punishing them because they break your immersion is just plain idiotic.
