Flakpanzer 341

In the recent update, the Flakpanzer 341 at 6.3 got massively buffed with a new gun that can fire APHE rounds that pen 87mm at 10 meters. I don’t understand why they did that but I am curious what other players say about the new buff to this vehicle. For me, it is painful to play against this vehicle because as long as the Flakpanzer keeps shooting you, it will eventually find a weak spot somewhere in your armor. Do you guys think Gaijin should nerf it, up it to a higher BR, or should they do something else?

If it becomes too good at anti tank, it should simply lose the anti tank belt. This spaa would be a really crappy tank destroyer at 6.7+ and would be a really crappy SPAA as well. It’s a very good SPAA at 6.3.

Bump it to 7.0 where it can face many light tanks and accompany my KTH105 and Panther II at 7.0 lineup. Yes it is good but still way to early to call it overpowered. It still has virtually 0 armour, it’s heavy ass spaa with no reverse gear

This doesn’t do anything. The 341 has crippling flaws that keep it from being some sort of TD SPAA like a ZA-35 or Falcon. It would then become a terrible spaa as I said.

Just remove the belt if its an issue.

I agree. It shouldn’t have gotten the APHE round in the first place. They should either take the APHE belt out completely or just move it up in BR if they are going to keep it.

No, because:

Ah ok. Then they should just keep it where it is then but just get rid of its APHE belt.

“Virtually zero armor”

It’s literally one of, if not the best armored SPAA in the game. Panther hull and actually very thick turret armor for an SPAA is well above the average.

When “good armor” for SPAA is resistant to .50 cal fire from the front at range, being able to reliably take poorly aimed main cannon fire and expect to come out with no damage taken is beyond amazing armor.

You can still kill it frontally with most reserve tanks. The armor is concentrated entirely and only on the UFP regarding fighting other tanks and not planes.

It it indeed poor when it triggers aphe or spall. For me it’s BR is virtually 7.0 anyway because it’s better for me than Kugel anyway

I use it at 7.0 with KT 10.5. Just move it up.

Let’s just remove the APHE buff instead and not ruin it.

LuL, just move it up in BR and leave it alone after buff. In the past it had like 70mm of pen and it wasn’t over powered

I’d rather it stay 6.3 as a good spaa than go to 7.0 and be an extremely mid spaa that kills light tanks

When I bump it up to my 7.0 lineup and doesn’t struggle to kill planes because everyone still uses slow prop planes for CAS, you would too. It doesn’t really matter

And it is definitely better than Wiesel and Kugel, for me.

This is why Gaijin should’ve just left the German legacy vehicles alone

They shouldn’t have spent any developer resources on vehicles that are removed and not available to new players in the first place.

Furthermore, it turns out one of them became too powerful from these changes and now additional developer time has to be spent correcting the issue.

“Most reserve tanks”

No, the majority of them struggle to penetrate and deal damage. That’s very different to many of the other SPAA in the game with ~30mm at best on their front. Immunity to most aircraft cannons and high resistance to some of the high powered ones (45mm magic spellcasting gun included) is amazing armor.

Which almost all other SPAA also suffer from, and yet if a HMG or weak autocannon fires in their general direction or they are strafed by pretty much anything bigger than a 7.62 they explode.

Coelian has easily the best armor for SPAA in the game, tier for tier. All-round immunity to .50 cal, turret and hull resist 14.5, 20mm to 23mm struggle to deal damage at distance, immunity to HE overpressure from the majority of normal guns, and aircraft either need really big guns or very precise aim and a lot of luck to strafe you to death. That’s amazing SPAA armor.

Even if I concede that it’s fine at 7.0, I can still make the argument the change is entirely unnecessary;changing a legacy vehicle drastically from its current position.

yeah not really

It does not have this, it has resilience to aircraft cannons. This is a distinct difference.

just put it at 7.0 then lmao
zsu 57 2 also has aphe with 150mm pen and sits at 7.0 and no one complains about that
at 6.7 you can just use the ostwind II or a different anti air
