Extreme compression at Ground Top Tier needs to be addressed urgently

IPM1 from 1984 facing Leopard 2A7s and T-90Ms from the 2020s is deeply nonsensical and unbalanced.

Ariete AMV and Leopard 2A7HU being the same BR feels like some kind of a bad joke.

A more objective, clear example; Leopard 2A5 being the exact same BR as Leopard 2A7V, which is a literal massive upgrade in terms of electronics (3rd gen vs 1st gen), protection (670mm KE vs 430mm KE), survivability (hull coated in spall liners) and firepower (L/55 vs L/44). Leopard 2A7V is lightyears ahead of Leopard 2A5, yet they both share the exact same BR, as if they had the same range of capabilities even though this is not true.

Top Ground BR should be 13.7 at very least, just like Air; allowing the desperately needed decompression not just for Top Tier, but also for lower BR ranges that also need it.

Regarding Top Tier, here’s an example list I elaborated for reference:

Extreme compression needs to be addressed urgently*

Fixed it for you.

Yeah, I mentioned compression is an issue at many BRs in OP too, hahah.

Even though 10.7-11.7 is the most affected BR range, the whole mode needs serious decompression, particularly around 4.7, 5.7, 7.7 and 9.7.

That’s why the top BR should be pumped to 13.7 at the very least (ideally 14.0 for both ground and air), so all of these can finaly be addressed.

Tiger 1 from 1942 facing 1970 M109, it needs to be fixed asap.

Also there’s weird differences in thermal gen and missiles:

  • Beam riding missiles currently are just better in terms of getting to the crosshair, not dipping into the ground immediately, or just missing entirely (in the case of the top-attack Spikes). Also tandem missiles not functioning as tandem missiles is a big issue.
  • As for thermals, they seem to have no influence on BR at all. You’ve got three different M1A2s at 11.7, all with different thermal gens, meanwhile the 120S has second-gen thermals at 10.0. Not to mention most 9.0-9.3 tanks having only first gen thermals, but 9.7-10.0 mainly get second- or third-gen thermals.

Making use of all decimal points for BR would help with these situations as well. If something is a direct upgrade but also not 0.3-better material, raise it by 0.1 or 0.2.

Agreed, the fact the Chally 2 (base) is only 0.3 BR lower than the 2A7V is just insane to me.

The fact that 2A7 is the same BR with any other tank is insane.

It should have a separate BR all on it’s own

Well, and the 122s:

Basically, MBTs full of strengths with no weaknesses at all.

I would say, factoring vehicles currently ingame and setting the top at 13.7 and also accounting for bug fixes and historical corrections regarding armor and mobility;

13.7:
Leopard 2A7HU (with historical DM63)
Leopard 2A7V (with historical DM63)
Strv 122B+
Strv 122B PLSS
Strv 122A

13.3:
T-90M
T-80BVM
Type 10
TKX
ZTZ-99A
WZ1001(E) LCT
VT4A1
M1A2 SEPv2 (with historical M829A3)
Merkava Mk.4M
Merkava Mk.4LIC
Merkava Mk.4B

13.0:
M1A2 SEP
M1A1 AIM (with historical KEW-A2)
Challenger 2E
Challenger 3 (TD) (with historical DM63)
T-80U-E1
Leclerc S.XXI
Leclerc AZUR
Leclerc S.2
Leopard 2A6
Leopard 2A5
Leopard 2 PSO

12.7:
M1A2
M1A1 HC
Leopard 2 PL (with historical DM63)
Leopard 2A4CAN (with historical DM53)
Black Night
Challenger 2
Leclerc S.1
T-72B3
T-80UK
T-80U

12.3:
M1A1
Challenger 2 (2F)
Challenger 2 TES
Challenger 2 OES
Type 90 (B)
Type 90
Ariete AMV

12.0:
IPM1
Ariete
Ariete PSO
Merkava Mk.3C
Merkava Mk.3B
T-90A
ZTZ-99-III
ZTZ-99-II
MBT-2000

Basically; what’s currently cramped into 11.0-11.7, should actually be spread between 12.0 and 13.7. And the extra BR from 11.0 to 12.0 would come from decompressing lower BRs as well.

They were 2A7 in my mind anyway, before 2A7 was added lol

I would put the T-90M below BVM, it really is nothing special. İt’s kind of bad.

I never even use it, instead I use the BVM. it has subpar mobility with exploding fuel tanks, and the worst reload of top tier. (Almost 2x of Type-10 and 1.6-7x of Abrams lol)

My only true top tier nations in ground are Germany and USSR, so will not comment on the rest.

Fighting Vs them is not good enough experience.

I won’t comment on things I haven’t used

Whilst I understand why you’ve done it, I strongly doubt hte Challenger 2 will be higher than the 2F, OES or TES.

Quite the opposite; they are modelled as “external fuel tanks” due to their technology and spall liner coating, they never explode like T-80BVM’s do.

Hahahah

Wise!

Most likely… xD

Okay, this is where I disagree.
IPM1 is not helpless in any way against 2A7V and T-90M.
IPM1 to T-90M is M46 to Maus armor wise.

Leopard 2A7V (2021), compared to IPM1 (1984), is;
+81% better hull armor (670 vs 370)
+67% better turret armor (800 vs 480)
+26% better penetration (652 vs 522)
+66% better thermals (3rd gen vs 1st gen)
+100% thermals (+commander)
+100% spall liners (fully coated vs none at all)

There is not a single universe in which these should face each other at all.

Shouldn’t the 2A4M CAN be on this list? It’s also missing its historical shells from what I’ve gathered( it also has shells it never used)

I missed it, gonna update it!

They shouldn’t but are you telling me the 9.0 tank has a better chance vs the Premium 10.3 lineups?

What?

An IPM1 has a better chance facing a T-90/2A7 than a 9.3 tank facing a T-80UD or Leopard 2A4 premium

…?
