US (Modern-ish) Tank Prototypes

Generally I’ve seen a lot of discussions on various interesting prototypes for other nations, but not a whole bunch for the US, so I thought I’d make one.

To be clear, this thread is mainly about other prototypes, but I’ve listed the prototypes from the US’ suggestion page if people want to talk about them or show support to them. (Also note, if I say “functional prototype” I’m going off of what I can tell from the suggestions.)

they all look cool, only bit i disagree with is the centurion lpt going to the US because the US has a few wacky turret tanks like it already, Britain doesnt

All except for Cent LPT are good for the US, the Centurion LPT would be perfect for Britain

Why can’t America have a diffrent countries tank.

Centurion LPT can go to the USA, Britain has claims to the Challenger 1 Falcon, which would be significantly better, using a similar low profile turret.

I would like to see the RDF/LT with full capabilities one day. It’s a neat tank.

The US has produced such a staggering number of vehicles with a wide variety of designs, roles and weight classes, that Gaijin doesn’t need to look to other countries to fill a niche.

@Emperororca You guys do realise Britain has absolutely nothing to do with the Centurion LPT? The US bought the Centurion hull, installed their own turret on it that was meant for their army, not Britain

Ah, i just looked in to it and yeah, it definitely belongs in the US tree (squadron tank hopefully)

Germany has more in common with benelux but that’s in the french tree so what?

Germany has more in common with the Netherlands, but not belgium.

The Netherlands is the main country out of Benelux for mechanised military history.

You specifically said that Germany had more in common with “the Benelux” and not “the Netherlands”

the Netherlands are the main part of BENELUX so count them as a major nation for discussions sake and Belgium and Luxemburg as subnations

Be Ne Lux puts all three nations equally, not specifying one insinuates all agree with your statement, which they do not.

That changes nothing, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has all four nations held equally in name but England is still the main nation of the group. The European Union has all nations as equal members but the main ones are Germany and France. A name or tag doesn’t hold all the value

If i was to phrase what you said the exact same way, but instead talking about economics, no-one would just “assume” i’m talking about one nation. The same is true about military strength. Saying a group insinuates the entire group is the subject, not exclusively a single part of it.

When people talk about european militaries they are almost certainly thinking about Germany france and Britain, not belgium or serbia, they think about the biggest players. which of the countries in Benelux makes up the majority of vehicles with the potential to be added into war thunder?
Admittedly it would almost all be copy paste from Britain but the point stands

Yes but this is an American Bought tank that they decide to buy to test the new turret on and if we follow some peoples logic that make it a totally diffrent tank. But this is unique only to America.

The M113 with Hellfire Launcher Pods can’t hurt you… it’s not real… Wait… There’s a Bradley and LAV version too??!

Not sure if there is a suggestion for it but
M1E1 was a standard M1 or M1IP (idk which) fitted with the 120mm XM256 cannon and firing XM827 (US produced DM13) and XM829, and had plates essentially bolted onto the turret face to simulate added weight.
It was a “prototype” or test bed for the features that would eventually make it onto the M1A1.
