Southeast Asian (ASEAN) Machinery Of War Discussion Thread

thats apparently what they did one of gajins brilliant ideas

Probably got paid to do it from some 3rd side in chaina

It’s simply wrong. While I understand this is a “leak”, if this turns out to be true I might drop the game completely. It’s an illogical, and an insult to all of ASEAN who gained their independence shortly after WW2, and used that independence to participate in the Non Aligned Movement, being neutral towards both two power bloc.

I would rather have it as a separate tree cause with Japan, the number of ASEAN vehicles will out number the Japanese, which makes it a bit ironic to call it Japan when there are more ASEAN vehicles.

Ideally for me there will still be subtrees to help with gameplay related problems, but they will receive their own trees to give them the necessary space, as well as accurate flag and name representation.

I like subtrees as a concept, but their execution leaves much to be desired.

I’d love to play Leopard2, but I’d rather play a 99A that could get better and more powerful.

Unfortunately Gaijin will use ASEAN as an excuse to not fix 99A.

Ok I got a solution for this, just split ASEAN in two piece, Southern part and northern part: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei and Philippine giving to Japan; Myammar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia to PRC.

Their sub tree’s for a reason.

Keep in mind that we do not talk about politics here.

It’s rather difficult to entirely avoid politics as some things such as Asean or and even certain vehicle development for any country are always impacted by bureaucratic nonsense. Though folks keeping it to a bare minimal is the best thing we can do.

I understand but it is against the rules to involve anything political on the forums. Just talk about the vehicles.

Once again mighty, we know some of us do, i tend to mostly steer away from the deeper stuff and keep it vague and simplified.

So I see how it is Gaijin…

Obviously i have a very strong opinion against the recent leaks, nevertheless, lets look at some of the more unique vehicles for ground that can be put for Singapore and Indonesia specifically. (The singapore vehicles are taken from the ground forces suggestion, feel free to add more)

Primarily follows 4 criteria:

  1. Unique domestic production
  2. Unique modification of preexisting vehicle
  3. Export version specifically designed for the country
  4. Vehicles that only a limited amount of country operated (less than 10)

Since new people might be curious, for Indonesian vehicles the current suggestion is still being reworked so at the time being please refer to this google document to see a full list of Indonesian vehicles:

If only that list of vehicles could be added somewhere it actually makes sense…

Rethink your mistake Gaijin, it’s not too late.

Is there anything new since gaijin wants to please those Chinese players and abandon us? Ever since gaijin participated in an interview with Chinese state media, it seems we are about to be abandoned.

If the leaks are correct, it seems like gaijin is going to jump into the political direction itself. This is very unfortunate. The reason why warthunder has flourished and the forums have been stable is because gaijin has been able to avoid political topics, and if that is lost, warthunder may perish.
