well they too, but i was talking about the army
someone from the Navy leaked the fact that a certain harbor was being extended to host a certain type of ship that we havent gotten in the fleet from Italy, but thats neither here nor there

Sometimes stupidity happens or they wanted it to be leaked. (China does that a lot where out of no where some random “watchers” get info)
yeah it’s all over X and FB formil group, so what’s the point hiding it?
what im saying is its better to wait and verify that its safe rather than immediately posting it just because
if its isnt safe then it could be a problem, like when the Su-30’s tail part of the livery got leaked
for instance when i brought up that we got KHAN based on the leaked images i waited around 2 weeks just to make sure its safe and I wont be risking my account here if it wasnt.
Personally I try to respect the AFB’s wishes in not sharing images, not that there is a problem in doing so
Yes I think your concern here isn’t unfounded. People have been debating whether it’s okay to post them or not, since the OPSEC restriction was supposed to apply for Air Force members, but past examples like the Su-30’s new camo, or the planned F-16 upgrades by Turkey, or the NASAMS launcher does tell that the Air Force is pretty serious about this kind of stuff

For information, Majority of the parts for the Rafale’s HAMMERs will be made locally.
update, rafale ceremony halted indefinitely

Unknown why, KERIS mentioned that the president is already in Jakarta, so there shouldnt be a problem there. Maybe because of the leaked images, if it is then its such a petty move ngl
tbf could also just be that there isnt going to be one? again who knows
EDIT: we got the first actual statement that the aircrafts are currently in service
"The aircraft have been handed over and are ready for use by the Indonesian Air Force,” Defence Ministry spokesperson Rico Ricardo Sirait said in a message in response to a Reuters query - the first confirmation that Indonesia has possession of the advanced military aircraft after striking an $8 billion deal with France in 2022 and expanding it last year.
Sirait said the three aircraft arrived on Friday and were stationed at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base in Pekanbaru, located on the western island of Sumatra.
EDIT2:
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto will attend the acceptance ceremony for three new fighter jets belonging to the Indonesian Air Force, namely the Rafale.
However, the Ministry of Defense has not been able to confirm when the aircraft acceptance ceremony will be held.
“The official reception ceremony will be held at a later date, depending on the President’s schedule and availability,” said Brigadier General Rico Sirait, Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Ministry of Defense’s Secretariat General, when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
So we got a reasoning here, basically it depends on the president’s availablility (lmao)

24x M-346 Master jet (dont know which variant yet, but the original journalist who reported it in december mentioned it as the M-346FI)
Brochure sent by KERIS : https://aeronautics.leonardo.com/documents/30508878/30801269/Aermacchi+M-346_brochure_ENG_new.pdf?t=1757688443771
Don’t they already operate the T-50?
Seems a little redundant no?
we like to make things harder for ourselves for no discernible gain
(NOT MY WORD, KERIS MENTIONS IT) Simple explanation some broker are also profiting from this deal, if we go for more T-50s they wont get money, so thats that
gotta get that Ace Combat sponsorship somehow ig /j
I’d say we’re already qualified for that
i mean we have a pentagon as our insignia, just like a certain kingdom…

also now that the footage embargo has passed, here’s some footage of the Rafale in Indonesia
video was taken from here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/X8iT48oEnrpXr5jm6

The catering company must be pissed hopefully they keep there deposit.
Would be a cool decal
Some additional info for ID stuff:
It is preparing to acquire 24 M-346 light fighter jets from Italy’s Leonardo, with an option for 12 more.
This purchase is doubled by another, for 24 PC-24 business jets from the Swiss Pilatus, also with an option for 12 more, for training purposes.
"Rumors about the M-346 appeared last December. They are confirmed.
It will be a particularly advanced version: AESA Q600 Grifo radar and electronic warfare suite with active jammer DRFM (which can decoy a radar by sending it ghost images)."
“At the heart of the deal is the company E-System Solution FZ, whose parent company was founded in the UAE a decade ago, and which has been operating in Indonesia for 5 years.”
“ESS will this time be responsible for acquiring the M-346 and PC-24 on behalf of the Indonesian government, and it will provide maintenance, training and support to the 2 fleets.”
“More recently, ESS has set up an Air Warfare Center, coupled with a center specializing in electronic warfare, and provided a training unit for pilots of the new Rafale, J-10E, and SU-30MK2 aircraft.”
“The official announcement seems imminent. The Singapore Air Show is due to open at the end of the week, which could be an opportunity for the Indonesian government.”
EDIT:
comment from the CEO of ESS in that post:
“Hello. Indonesians are known to sign MoUs that lead nowhere. The KF21 was launched by another government, and the current one is not very interested in renewing or buying equipment from this country for specific reasons. For Boeing, nothing will happen, also for budgetary reasons. There will be purchases in the US, but not for this type of equipment.”
Of course take it with a grain of salt, it could very well be just him not wanting to prop up rivaling companies
I hope this is the right thread, but it very much looks like f-15ex won’t happen with boeing stopping trying to push it.
Confirmed. Statement provided by Leonardo themselves
"At Singapore Airshow 2026, Leonardo announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with PT ESystem Solutions Indonesia and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Republic of Indonesia aimed at cooperating for the supply and support of the Leonardo M-346 F “Block 20” aircraft to meet Indonesian Air Force operational requirements. "
“The new M-346 F “Block 20” light fighter configuration standard will be equipped with cockpits featuring a Large Area Display (LAD), active electronically scanned radar, a Link 16 data-link, electronic countermeasures, and new weapons systems. Leonardo’s platform simultaneously offers a complete, integrated advanced flight training system - including a GBTS (Ground Based Training System), combined simulated elements and scenarios with real flights according to a Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) logic - with additional light combat capabilities for air-to-air and air-to-surface missions, enabled by advanced mission systems, equipment and sensors, also including aerial refuelling capability.”
M-346FI Block 20 version. Equipped with an AESA radar & Electronic CounterMeasure system. will be handled by ESS
seems that the original report is 100% correct
EDIT: HAHAHAHAHA ITS REAL, I DIDNT BELIEVE IT WAS BUT IT IS

Indonesia Air Force Pilot Training Modernization | E-System Solutions FZ Linkedin
After delays, 2 out of 6 airframe has been delivered via cargo, seems that with the possible new arrival of the M-346, the trainer role will be handed to that, whereas this could possibly be used as a dedicated fighter

Livestream:
based on the statement provided during the livestream it seems there will be a focus for toll roads to be used as impromptu runways. Technically not the first, since some parts of the Jagorawi tollroad near Jakarta was also designed as such
Check out how close the landing was to the cars on the road:
