Sim rewards being terrible

I have heard this point a lot. But this point makes sense only when proper gameplay takes place.
PvE still matches MMO concept.

In current PvP gameplay strike planes do not have proper gameplay, in my opinion. You do not plan your attack, you do not make target priorities, there is no scenario, just dumb hitting ground units…if enemy will allow you to do this. Especially when you are playing against USA team.

In PvE you can focus on game mechanics and completing task. But not just task, but scenario, which should be much more interesting and immersive than current “hit and run” gameplay.

Sim reward are terrible.
Fly F5 E, the joining cost is above 11 000 sl.
F5E is a fighter and at this br the most often is dogfight. F5E has no problem with any other planes. Lets say you get one kill, 600 points and than what… run to your base and wait. This is not the way you should play. Sim is forceing players to be neactive after thay score. If there is game with 4 players on both sides, every one from the red team get kill or destry a base, than the blue team dont have anyone to fly with, and if you say there are always bots in the game, witch might not be truth since there is only friendly or ennemy bomer at the time, not both, there is nothing atractive in the game for blue team. Ennemy scores and than run off, for 15min, get a reward and is happy to get one. You with no points gets nothing. The problem is in the 15minits time gabs. If you would not be reward at the time you score, atleast it would make sance to be reward at the time you land. Players would go right back to the game and woudnt have to wait for the reward. In a ground realistic game you can easily earn about 40 000 sl per 15minits. In sim… you might get the joining cost back and only if you survive, that means for first 15min with F5E you earn about 5 000sl.

Well, this is what sim players wanted. When rewards were good (sim players were bragging about it), it attracted farmers. Sim players started to complain about farmers, so gaijin changed rules for getting rewards.
Now sim mode is only for those who really loves sim as pvp gameplay. Enjoy!

… If anything, the current system rewards PvE and heavily punishes PvP.

Take off, climb & fly for ~10-12 minutes
Drop bomb for ~500 points (About 80% of full reward)
RTB in ~6 minutes
Land
Repeat

Vs PvP:

Take off, climb and patrol looking for targets for 8-15 minutes depending on lobby size (I’ve gone dry for a whole UA cycle before trying to find anyone to intercept during deader brackets and hours)
Fly into a Supremacy point and contest it for 3-5 minutes. Get ~400-600 score for that if you win (and it doesn’t expire on you and give nothing to nobody)
Kill 1-2 planes while contesting, get ~450-900 score for that
You’ve way exceeded the optimal reward treshold and should have flown back to base after first kill and just sat AFK above your airfield because lingering on the A point means you might die early and get practically no reward, especially at rank 4 and rank 5.

That still do not mean, players should pay for playing sim.

I struggle to find games in the F2H-2 that do not involve the saggitario 2 or early aim-9Bs.

The best solution would be to reduce AF bombing to 0 rewards. And raise the rewards for fighters massively.

The risk of getting no rewards in a fighter is way higher than sitting in a bomber, watching Netflix while on autopilot and do easy points.

The top scorers are still Zomber, bombing AF´s… But they shouldn’t, because Gaijin solved the Zomber problem… But somehow it just works fine for Zombers and punishes Fighters only.

Bombing AF´s shuts down the gameplay for the fighters. So less “targets” will be available for the fighters.

I agree, but “true PVP” players do not think so.

No this really screws the bombers. Having the AFs as a permament target means that players dont have to fight over bases like they do in ARB. Personally I want to see attackable airfields added to ARB specifically to better improve the effeciency of bombers within that gamemode.

Im also really hoping for Gameplay like JP233 runs in the future.

I personally think the reward is fine.

The issue is that you need to survive to get any reward and its incredibly easy to cap on reward earnings and just need to RTB for 10 minutes before taking off again. That is the problem. They should swap to a hybrid system. Half the reward immediately, the other half via activity time as it is now. So you always earn something even if you die shortly afterwards. Also add diminishing returns based “overtime” for doing more actions in a given 15 minute window and then finally remove the first spawn SL costs and boom. Sim economy is WAY better and no one looses out.

My solution to this is simple. If a player dies in close proximity to an Airfield 3 times in a row. prevent them from gaining any score from the AF for the next 15 minutes. Zombers dealt with and no one punished. Personally during events, I just farm these zombers, its quicker than any other method for farming the events.

No. It doesn´t at all… It just screws Zombers. For every other Bomber player, there are more than enough targets available. Bases, Convoys and ground battles, ships are there all the time.
This would massively improve the bomber gameplay.

In addition, a single bomber would never have been able to reach an airfield alone anyway. So it’s obsolete in Sim anyway.

Ah yes… Fighter rewards are good enough, in your opinion…
But they are by no means that, as so many have been able to clearly explain to you before me.

When I then read through the discussion about the Ju288C, it is already completely clear that bomber rewards need a cut.

My solution is much simpler. It also finally adds real bomber gameplay and makes it extremely difficult for Zomber to exploit the sim mechanics.
Furthermore, Fighter Pilots enables significantly improved gameplay.

Alternatively, AI fighters at different heights above the airfield would of course also be conceivable. 6 or 8, with a perfect aim. So that a single bomber doesn’t have the slightest chance of getting within bombing range of the airfield unless it is protected by a group of fighter planes.

No there isn’t…I’ve had plenty of matches where there are no bases available to bomb and yes, you can reach the airfields,.it’s extremely easy

LOL… There are enough other targets!!! I just told you how many… So if you are not able to find any targets in a Sim game, Sim is just the wrong place for you.

Clearly you have never played higher tiers. Ive had 100s (maybe 1000s) of sorties in aircraft like jaguars, buccaneers and tornados where there were NO other targets.

Good luck attacking a convoy or battlefield with bombs because of the SPAAs and bases were all destroyed. Especially in the case of the Buc S2s which can take out 3.8 bases per sortie. Never enough bases on the map for that many bombs.

Especially when you have something like an A-10C or 2 mopping up all those ai targets.

Deleting airfields as visible targets only hurts the gamemode. If youve never played a bomber then you won’t understand

and just double checked. You’ve yet to play a single match over rank V. Please comment on “the availability of bases or ground targets” when you reach rank VIII. Remember, Gaijin would nerf EVERY BR and not just bottom tier stuff

Sorry, but I´m just not interested in mouse kicking missile spam gameplay that happens in “Top tier”.

And yes… reducing rewards for AF bombing to zero effects some “not Zombers”. But Zombers will be reduced to close to zero… Less Zombers, more targets for real Bomber pilots…

Bombers are the root cause of this nerf.
And strangely enough, the fighter pilots have to suffer the most from this nerf…

It will hurt the gamemode serverly for anyone who plays sim for the PvE side of the PvPvE gamemode. ARB is already DOA for anything that needs to drop bombs. Deleting a primary target from the gamemode just pushes them out of their last gamemode.

No they werent. it was people making farming lobbies and killing people on runways.

And where did you see that? Do i enjoy a good mud mover? yes. But I spend just as much time in fighter aircraft as well and trust me, evading Mig-29s in the Tornado IDS, takes far more skill than just firing an AMRAAM or Skyflash at them,

Everyone looses. Less targets in Sim and a destroyed gameplay for those wanting to play a bomber or strike aircraft, then less people will play sim. Less people playing sim, means less targets for fighters, maybe even no lobbies available.

I hope you enjoy sitting on the lobby page waiting for a match to appear that you can join and when you do, you spend the entire match just shooting down ai aircraft because there are no players.

No, it doesn´t… There are way better targets for good gameplay than AF´s… There is close to 0 Ticket bleed for bombing AF. Sim is team play. And there are way better targets to choose for the win of your team, than bombing an AF for your own points…

LOL… The only reason the lobbies are empty right now is because the bombers are destroying the airfields unhindered. This shuts down the entire game play for the fighter and strike aircraft pilots…
The fewer Zombers due to zero reward from AF bombing, the more players in the lobby

Sorry, but for me Zomber are not players that I would need in a sim lobby.

If all bases are dead (happens ALL the time at higher tiers) and you lack the guided weapons needed to attack AI targets (which is very common) then what am I suppose to do?

Fly around and around over enemy territory waiting for a base to respawn and hoping I dont get shot down by an enemy fighter instead of just dropping bombs on the airfield.

and its clear to me you have no idea what anything past props even looks like in Sim. I dont understand how you can comment on how I should be playing something like a Buccaneer when you’ve barely unlocked your first jet.

Again, please dont comment or demand changes for ALL BRs. Because all you are doing, is demanding changes that will not benefit those in fighters. You are just demanding changes that will hurt bombers. Unfairly and serverly. If you want pure PvP gameplay. go play ARB.

Sim rewards should be increased, not decreased further.

No bases for bombers to attack, no bombers in the gamemode and thus no players. Also, just shoot the bombers down, free score for you. If you cant shoot down a slow lumbering bomber, thats a skill issue. I just farm kills on the zombers when i want an easy game.

The same thing as a fighter pilot focused on shooting down the AI recon aircraft only…

So I cannot play the aircraft that I want to play because there are already too many bombers? I dont care about about SLs, because I get those from naval. I dont care about RP because I have everything researched already. I want to play aircraft for fun, and sat AFK waiting for a base to respawn is not fun. I want to be able to jump into whatever I want, whenever I want to. If Im in the mood for a Buc or Jag, you know what I will be doing. I will be dropping bombs. If Im in the mood for the SHar or F3. Then guess what, i’ll be shooting down aircraft.

I shoudlnt be limited on choice because 1 or 2 other players are in bombers too (which is all that is needed at higher tiers)

Except for people like me who enjoy playing ground attack, and airfields provide some form of threat given the usual proximity of enemy air and SAMs. Not to mention the fighters that would have to roam significantly further for foes to engage, whilst also having more points to search out enemy fighters because bombers would be disincentivised from engaging in the teamplay mechanic of reducing enemy spawn points; keeping their distance. So really hinders fighter activities too.

Feel like even if you haven’t played a bomber, the advantage that it should bring to remove these sources of the foe should be obvious enough to a fighter player. Also made life easier for me in my lil frogfoot when there were fewer avenues I had to worry about an approach from when smacking ground targets.
