Sim rewards being terrible

The Bomber Team. Coz Bombers are just way too OP

AB and RB is 10x more rewarding and even more casual, so what’s your angle?

Abrb are not casual. Theres instant 15 minutes action without rest.

Yes. 15 minutes of pointing your mouse at things.

2/3 players in SB pointing their strike aircraft at red circle, then die.

And they will reduce the spawn price.

And reward too.

The whole gameplay should be reviewed in my opinion, not only rewards.
100% PVP gameplay is not attractive.
If you increase the reward, it will attract farmers.
If you decrease the reward, only true PVP SB fans will play.

True. (mostly)
We don´t want the farmers/zombers, so simply more rewards is a difficult lever.

If people play Bombers/ Strike Aircraft in their intended role (bombing bases and attacking ground units) that´s fine. Its their designation and the only reason for these planes to be in the game. No one expect them to dogfight, yet they have to accept the risk of being intercepted.
But this stupid airfield rocketing has to stop. Airfields should be better protected against suicide Phantoms or Ju-288s.

PVP gameplay(even 100%) is fun, but only for experienced players. New ones and even medium skilled players will struggle and loose SL like hell.
Dying is punished way too hard in sim (high spawn costs, loosing rewards, you loose your last spawn even if you survive), that the game mode is barely affordable for many.
Slow progression is one thing and should be the main reason for premium, but loosing a ton of SL right after being shot down a few times is just frustrating.

In my opinion the spawn costs are the main hurdle for new sim players, and we need new players.
This stupid 15 min. useless action system is annoying af and denies you rewards wherever it can, but at least it doesn´t make the game unplayable.

And if you lower the rewards even more, the mode will die.(even more)
Not being able to cover the costs and make at least a little, little bit of profit is a red line.
If I ever reach this point, the game will immediately disappear from my computer. .

It’s good in theory, but the reward gain isn’t linear from the score gained, and there is a hard cap on how much rewards you can gain in one cycle.

Especially at rank V and VI. Spawn costs are needlessly expensive, with certain aircraft costing over 20k to spawn. It is also very discouraging knowing that you are guaranteed to lose a fair bit of SL by spawning again at any point.

Adding beyond the learner’s tax making certain BRs dead of new players (or even not new players who are simply unfamiliar with that plane archetype)…

When do you join lobbies?

Do you dare join a lobby that was open for one hour, unsure if it’s enough time to make back your spawn costs and even make something barely resembling profit (ergo: 30 minutes - 15 to offset costs, 15 to profit - assuming survival)?

I know I don’t.

And this is a big problem because players should ideally play in big lobbies with lots of players (12v12 or so). This for one counters zombing quite decently, and it also makes lobbies more fair (higher probability of any one player encountering someone who is at their skill or slightly better than them). It also makes more maps viable.

There’s no downsides to letting people join lobbies an hour late without them being scared they’ll lose money.

The main issue is, that it also punishes dying way to hard, because you get the (capped) reward only for the full 15 min.
If you have a good day and get 3 kills (~1600 points) in the first 5 minutes of the cycle and then die, this system denies you most of your rewards.
You get only 33% of the capped points(1200). So you are only rewarded for ~400 points, despite shooting down 3 enemies for the value of ~1600. So this very usefull (for gaijin) system steals 3/4 of what you have worked for!
Plus the 92% thing…

For a pure PVE/singleplayer mode this system is good to cap the progression speed and block some farming exploits.

But it is completely unsuitable shit in a PVP mode where dying is part of the game loop

Farmers/zombers = Targets and games that get started… bring 'em on.

I’m sick of having to wait 18 minutes to get a game going because the only active games are in maps I don’t want to play in.

Also people who play sim need to learn to sit and wait for the game to start… if everyone just stayed in the room they joined for more than 3 minutes there wouldn’t really be a problem getting games going (though 3 minutes is still rough, so I say increase the rewards).

Yeah, zombers are free kills most of the time, but certainly better ways for gaijin to deal with them if they wanted without slapping everyone in the gamemode.

Yes, but there’s no fun in shooting them down.

If you don’t play the game as a grinding job

That is what I have been talking about for several years. But nobody cares.

Exactly! Though, SL only cannot solve an issue of low popularity of SB regime.
I do not think players will enjoy a gameplay of being prey even if it will be rewarded. For grinding purpose only maybe.

Actually, you can protect yourself from SL loss by purchasing premium account…but why we do not see many players doing this? The answer is gameplay!
I personally would purchase premium if it allowed me to play PvE instead of PvP and make progress from it. I am sure many players would appreciate good PvE as well.

This is completely wrong. I take off, point mouse into air for 6 minutes while making coffee to get alt, I come back and see red nametags and than engage at my own pace, after 5 min of combat I go to toilet while flying home or the enemy is only 1 left and at airfield. A 25 minute match is at most 10 minutes of combat space, 5 min of mouse movements.

In SB, It’ the complete opposite. I have to hold angle the entire time or use alt tab method, on top of this, my own team mates attack me all the time + enemy is camping airfield constantly, meaning I have to watch for every single dot 24/7. The amount of effort and wasted time is immense. As the tiers get higher, enemies can attack from 360 degrees and spotting is almost impossible in SB without massive tryharding.

Literally anyone can be an enemy, since IFF, Ground control, ATC, AWACS do not exist and nobody communicates.

Sim is not a pure PVE mode. If you just want to fly in a straight line to the target and drop bombs without interacting with other players, then Singleplayer/Custom something is the right spot.
If you play multiplayer, you will have to face other players.

But I agree, that especially in higher tiers the maps are too cramped and A2G gameplay in a pure bomber or attacker is barely possible without being eaten.

We need more maps like Afghanistan, where you can sneak through the mountains.

I have a PvE mission that no one could complete in a single attempt. Especiallly in SB regime.
PvE isn’t just about ‘flying in a straight line to the target and dropping bombs without interaction.’
In fact, the bots can fight effectively enough to make the average player break a sweat.
Moreover, many player cannot complete even 1st step when you need to destroy ground units.

Mode )

We have several maps like this. It does not help.
