Raise the F8F up or put it at Rank 4 just before or after the cannon U4's

Yeah, it doesn’t feel that amazing, even at 4.7, since it has like no energy retention.

I mean I killed a bunch of K-4s by just diving to the deck and reversing them, but they also turn like bricks and their guns have pathetic range compared to even a Yak-3.

least scary plane in the world only credible threat in a head on and it only turns good at high speed has to be stalling to use flaps P47s are are easy to beat in a F8F as your basically his full counter do everything but ALT performance and guns better than him

This sounds plausible but I just can’t wrap my head around it actually working.

The P-47 is everything the P-51Ds want to be.

yeah i spaded the hell cat one match 9 kills if i remeber correctly just play with some altitude and you win basically very good plane

P51 D5 try not to be saddest heaviest plane in existence challenge level impossible

Literally this. 4 .50s are miserable. .50s just don’t light up targets anymore.

I parked on this dude with .50s and he just wasn’t dying. He should’ve been on fire WAY prior.

A fellow player tested Hellcat and F4U-4 against Yak-3 with the diagrams, u might find them interesting:

The instructor puts both in a disadvantage vs Yak-3s, without you win.

Read through the new replies, looks like a couple of people do not know how energy fighting works. The F8F is strong as an energy fighter. You are not supposed to just turn with it.

Consider the following:
Kinetic Energy = Potential Energy.
What happens when two planes with significantly different top speeds, flying at their top speeds, gently turn up, 90 degrees?
What happens when two planes with significantly different top speeds go into a shallow dive, or climb?
The faster plane will simply overwhelm the slower plane.
The F8F has the tools to fight anything it faces, almost like an early jet fighting props.

A plane in the vicinity that is gaining more energy than you every passing second is a very big threat. Anecdote: I went afk to pick up food, while flying straight at the deck. A Do 335 chose to pursue. I came back and just went up, leaving the Do 335 no option but to die, because I had more energy stored in the airframe after a prolonged chase.

You can force them to let you extend, by the virtue of the F8F’s superior top speed and energy generation. Anecdote: I turn fought a spitfire, saw that I was running out of energy. I extended away, and while he completed his 180 turn, I was already almost back at my top speed. Extended away a little bit to gain separation, then went up. That’s it, the spitfire can either choose being energy trapped or get boom and zoomed to death, because he could not contest my energy state any longer. He chose BnZ death.

only way a typhoon wings is in head on or turn fight the F8F can BNZ its nuts off

Not if they shoot you down. It only takes a singular 20mm hit to kill or criple a plane.

Do 335 is an attacker. It naturally does poorly in a fight.

Easy dodge when you’re controlling the fight

Do 335 is an aircraft that can fly faster than the F8F at higher alts. The Dornier dies if it flies at the deck. The Dornier lost because of user error.

Don’t let labels like “attacker” fool you into anything.
Here’s a Br 1.7 “attacker” doing perfectly fine vs late Spitfires in turn fights

Nope. the F8F flies like garbage at any significant speed.

Don’t need to turn hard to dodge someone with any kind of separation involved, and even if there is not enough separation, the F8F can turn perfectly well at lower speeds too

I’d like to join if possible

Sure thing

@Pangolin_Fan you can choose, close spawn, 1.5km in between or far spawn, 6-ish km in between

either works. Which plane should we duel first?

Your choise.

I will use the far away spawn
