the rwr is usefull in telling youre getting tracked, you should be carefull from there as you should know yourself that at that tier the only reason youd be getting tracked for that long is an aim54. keep an eye out for the general direction and hope a missile diamond pops up. then notch. not 100% reliable far from it but it works. also multipath is decently effective although unreliable

yeah i dont think so. i think hes right 10km shots in the r24r are a dice throw, aim7e2 has no issue with them, at the altitude i usually shoot them at 3k/4k meters
The MiG-23 only has front-right, front-left, rear-left, and rear-right sensors, so it can’t detect missiles coming from above or below. So yeah, it’s kind of useless.

The MiG-23 has the superior low altitude radar, and superior IR aams. Then turn rate; if you have keybinds for it, playing it on controller is hell with those many keybinds as is.
The F-4 (pretty much any model) have the better high altitude radar and aams. Not to mention usually more counter measures, and possibility to carry more bombs.
They’re also faster
