regular AIM-54C should also recieve the mach 5 capability
AIM-54C vs C+ is literally a difference of ECCM and it does not require coolant

They also needed its Newton in thrust, so it will accelerate worse, so really its just 1 step forward 1 step back
Silver lining, it won’t push F-14B/D to 13.3. The buff to max AOA is very nice regardless. You’re best to launch AIM-54C/C+ at high altitudes to maximize its effectiveness.
dam the new pull is nice but for a missile that already struggled to hit MC 3 this is huge hit to thrust
tbf even at high alts the missile would never really break mc 4 so the thrust hit def matters here lets hope the new loft helps a little bit but since it has less time on burn it mite not help much
Yeah, it is kind of annoying still that the phoenix is just not capable of killing anyone competent, just of how easy it is to defeat with the tiniest amount of effort. I know it already was capable of killing newbros, but I want a weapon that can actually defend me against a competent pilot, not just slow me down because of how heavy it is.
Yeah i dont get why theyd Nerf both thrust and burn time, you’d think they’d like nerf the burn but buff the thrust or something. But apparently not :/

every time they change the Aim54 motor they give it less thrust, id love to know what sources they use to get their thrust numbers here.

Don’t buff the guidance of an overperforming missile while nerfing the underperforming missile that should be competing for it in range.

the craziest part its all public sources will tell you the missile is at least MC 4+ but it cant hit mc 4 even at 15000M

i’ve seen the AIM-54C hit Mach 5 before in the sensor mode of the replays but i haven’t seen it happen since.
