This is the month of the Tomcat, and with the introduction of the F-14D to War Thunder, it’s time for the F-14 family to receive long-overdue AIM-54 overhauls.

There are currently several valid, accepted, and outstanding bug reports concerning the AIM-54 Phoenix that would provide meaningful improvements to its performance. Especially, it is imperative that the F-14B and F-14D receive these AIM-54C fixes, as they would significantly improve the missile’s effectiveness and better reflect its documented capabilities.

If anyone is aware of additional accepted or outstanding reports, that have yet to be implemented, that deserve attention, please let me know so they can be highlighted and included here as well.

Spread the word and help bring attention to these issues. The addition of the F-14D at 13.0 becomes far more justified when the AIM-54C fixes are implemented.

50km missile against 12.3 and 12.7. Are you joking?

Plus smokeless booster. With some plane having bad rwr.

I really hope your not serious

AIM-54C already gives me around 2 kills per 4 missiles, if this ratio will go up with the buffs - it should absolutely go up in BR, i wholehearthedly agree. The only reason why F-14s sit as low while having long range Fox-3 missiles - is the fact that Phoenixes are not as reliable as other Fox-3s

I can see it could go up to 13.3. Fakour-90 is still better than AIM-54C, even if the fixes are implemented. Beyond 13.7, it’s no good.

I really don’t care about BR tbh

Only things what I care is just historically correct or not

No one said 13.7.

But yes i would love to see 13.3 with aim9m and 54c+.

But keep the 12.7 as it is to not get it its br up.

More like 20km, also im sorry but nobody on this planet is gonna play an F-14 that has the chance to meet rafales, F15 GE, SM2s, eurofighters, etc

As i said, not 13.7

AIM-54A, as it stands, is largely historically correct, so it won’t be moved up.

If your using aim54 at 20km. The missile is not the problem.

Even at 20km is usually a miss from someone popping a singular chaff, anything over 20 and them turning bleeds enough energy to defeat it

Even 13.3 is enough to get iptiered to the entire US top tier line up, eurofighters, and MICA equipped aircraft
Every single game its guaranteed to be fighting SU30 premiums with R-77z, R-73s, the F-2, and other much more powerful ARH launchers

With a brick from the 60s with no IR missiles and the flat out worst ARH in the entire game

None of 13.3 and 13.7 can do bvr like the f14.

Of course if you put the f14 in the wrong play style, the plane will feel bad and be used as a excuse to be called weak.

Aim9m

Out turn most planes.

SU30s and several AMRAAM aircraft definitely can, also BVR is useless, anyone with half a brain just dives and spams chaff

None if them have a 9M, the B has an L i guess?

Including the SU30s, F2, gripens, eurofighters, F16s, F18s, etc

Says a lot about your opinion. Specially when talking about f14.

Take a look at both sides. Your forgetting the 12.3 and 12.7 and even 13.0 boats that it will faces like f4 phantoms and mirages f1.
