the craziest part its all public sources will tell you the missile is at least MC 4+ but it cant hit mc 4 even at 15000M
i’ve seen the AIM-54C hit Mach 5 before in the sensor mode of the replays but i haven’t seen it happen since.
Perhaps we can get a reduced smoke motor to compensate for the reduced thrust.
they would need to be like max alt at full speed to get that speed and that was the old aim54 with its worse thrust now gl with that
honestly i would rather have the better thrust. I can tolerate the full smoke motor for balancing purposes.
Bruh gaijin is just anti USA atp, they refuse to make aim54c /c+ historically accurate but buffs the Iranian knock-off one that has no real evidence of it actually performing like that.
i did it around 8000-10000 meters with manual lofting i’m pretty sure. on the F-14B
Yeah, likewise. We will have to see if the changes stick all the way to the live update.
I am hoping for more last-minute changes.
yeah i’m still not buying the F-14D pack until we get more accurate Pheonix specs. but good news is that the suggestion for the F-14(R) was approved by the Suggestion Moderators, so i might not even have to spend a dime if i want an F-14D.
i still want a Tech Tree Production F-14D, not one of the upgraded legacy tomcats though like the F-14(R) is.
im legit curios as to how you got it going mc 5 form only 10,000M even with manual lofting,
Anti-USA is when
probably my launch speed. i haul ass as much as possible and usually fire Phoenixes from below 50 km in range.
it’s possible i was above Mach 1.1+
okay that’s impressive.
that’ll be fun to have. actually agile Pheonixes?
not an expectation i had this update cycle.
Remember that AIM-54 got a better loft profile with these changes so its actually better than it was
fair point. but it’s still an unreasonable step back when we have sources stating more thrust and longer burn times.
Ok, that pull is far too strong for my taste. No way it will make it to the live update. I think they will have to tone it down.
It pulls almost as hard as the AIM-9M and AIM-120D. Yeahhhh, that’s too much. The AIM-7M Sparrow is literally pointless now.
Phoenix finally getting its dogfight mode and I love it.
Not quite wrong actually. The whole reason for its pull is its slow speed and long burn. As soon as propellant runs out it falls like a rock. You can observe something similar with Matra 530 for example.
Fair enough. This had flabbergasted me.
