F-14D(R) would work just fine.
This is what I thought they would do in the first place, have the F-14D and F-14D(R) so one can be a premium and the other in the TT. It was a reasonable thing to believe they would do but Gaijin being Gaijin they can always find new ways to disappoint.

F-14D(R) probably has no external differences, or negligible ones. Therefore it can be copy pasted into the tree easily.

Of course they do. Because if they add one in the TT it will lower the fomo of the pack and actually give people an option to not have to buy it to play the F-14D. It lowers their potential profit. Profit is all they care about. We know this is how and why they think.

Well, there aren’t that many differences from 14B. I don’t see any problems. It’s pretty cool.
If you don’t have money, play 14B, if you have a lot of money, play 14D.
This is one of the issues which you either don’t understand or are just being ignorant towards. The F-14D should be a major update over the F-14B but Gaijin has intentionally kept it as the exact same aircraft but with a different radar. You can see this in their decision to only now give AIM-9M to the F-14B only when they give it to the F-14D.

APG-71 vs AWG-9 faster better stronger
AIM-7M vs AIM-7P datalink capability improving tracking a lot
IRST + AIM-9M deadly combo just look at EFT for that
and a updated cockpit for sim enjoyers
it fixes every problem the F14B has from lathargic radar to horrible missiles

The few differences are big. The AN/APG-71 is a full PD radar. The one area all previous F-14s have issues with. While it’s not a massive change yet, the IRST which the 14B does not have. And the F-14D isn’t supposed to just be these two things over the 14B. Possible 7P and it should have 9Ms anyway. B should have the 9M too.
