oh then it might
I dont think 74m does though which is the contemporary of 9x blk 2
Lock range for IIR missiles is probably insane irl, but Gaijin could and probably would artificially nerf it and keep them how they currently are unfortunately.
So it’s just another modification of the R-73 without IIR? That’s exactly why there still won’t be any AIM-9X, MICA, ASRAAM, etc. in this game. So there’s nothing to discuss here.
i might confuse them both, learned new thing, thanks
Perhaps most importantly
don’t spell it like that
Its got dual-band or something, which will probably mean it will be harder to flare than IIR because “reasons”
Other specs im not sure about but this thread is pretty good for quickly comparing
I’ve compiled a summary that brings together information on various FOX 2 with IRCCM missiles I’m aware of. These details were sourced from the internet and various War Thunder forums, with links provided where applicable. Unfortunately, I haven’t retained all my sources, so if you have any questions about specific data or information, please feel free to ask in the forum, and I’ll do my best to retrieve the necessary information for you. it does, i literly posted the brochure
Even if they hard capped them all at 15-20km. Which would level the playing field, that is still well within the engagement range of the ASRAAM, so no DL would mean very little
that is m2
In game dual band is implemented as tracking suspension, so it will get dual band + FoV restriction.
(This is also the reason why the AAM-3 isnt getting a better IRCCM, because both of its IRCCM types irl are implemented in game as being tracking suspension).
Even if they hard capped them all at 15-20km
Well, my assumption is they’re going to keep it as it is now, so not even anywhere close to 15-20km and more like 5-6km it currently is.
modern missile against modern missile.
r74m is older model and its comparable to 9x blk1 and older missile irccm.
Do you mean R-73M? which was planned for the 1990s but I dont think ever actually happened due to the collapse of the USSR
R-74M I thought was like 2015 ish?
r74m is older model
its newer than 9x blk 2 …
r73m is a more older model.
here a explaination from the expert.

2015 and 2016 difference…
not so much a difference.
ok?
so it is the contemporary, not 74m2
but who care about 74m anyway ? its the 74m2 and the 9x blk2+ thats gonna be added anyway.
9X block 2 is the worst next gen ir missile by far, in basically every area
That isn’t true at all. It probably belongs to Python 5 but I’ll have to see how AAM-5 and PL-10 pans out. Contrary to popular belief the AIM-9X is likely the most versatile IIR missile for next gen IR.
