the usa and its allies need a better ir missile for arb and i think its about time for at least the early aim9x to be introduced and if not at least the aim9m-8,-9 because r 73’s are ridiculous at close range which does not compare to the current 9ms

okay let’s start,so the aim9x2+ has a hob of 90 degrees+ which gives it a great advantage but i’m sure those other missiles have something close to it but i’d say it’s maneuverability in close range combat would be overall better which is 60-80g’s from a couple of military docs(unclassified)
IRIS-T and MICA IR out pull 9X
mica ir is documented to pull 50 g’s but it’s hard to tell but the point is these missiles have they’re trade offs and their edges over eachother
While the 5th gen IIRs do have tradeoffs among each other in general, the MICA-IR is also kinda just… better. Like, turning performance good enough for basically any use case, a better seeker (although this wouldn’t be modeled in game), and lots of range, even when compared with the ASRAAM.

i do believe that the blk2+ has a better g pull rather than the mica ir(mica ir isn’t as well documented as the blk2+ to pull more g’s” BUT in range i would give the win over to the mica ir although the blk2+ has possibly one of the best eccm in the world and its seeker is exceptional but again not saying the other ones arent
not necessarily due to the fact that if it got put in a situation where a close range fight were to take place the blk2+ would take the edge but again it heavily depends what the scenario is
As much as I love the AAM-5s, and they are arguably better then the Aim-9Xs. They’re still sadly not gonna be the top IR contender.
No DL is a bit of an sore spot for LOAL gameplay. Especially with how limited IR missile lock ranges are in game compared to IRL.
