I agree I can not explain how much i hate this tank. Its nothing but a nuance and is the single handed worst tank to be added to the game. There has never been a tank ive hated so mcuh. Its pen is too high on the AP with shooting prettymuch 2 bullets a second at 8.0-8.7 i belive it BELONGS at 10.0 flat. It will still do good there but the tanks at 9.0 and below are too slow and with the uptier of the m1 leo2a4 and all other MBTS its just too annoying of a tank. The r3 was uptier form 3.7 to 5.3 thats a total of almost 2 full br uptier for a tank that was just like this one per its respective BR except now the r3 is only good at its job a fast nuance and good at killing lights. The XM800T should be the same. It is a light. And thus should pen some tanks. But not heavy armoured medieums at any range. You take the R3 against a m6a1 a lighter amoured heavy and it wont pen. You take an XM800T and put it against any early MBT the heavy frenches all leos even T55s and it can pen them. That aint right for its speed and firerate plus its tracked and can easily turn on a dime go in mud water and other terrain and picks speed immediately unlike all other rat tanks of its sort (fox and eland 90) that run of wheeles struggle to turn cant take mud AND HAVE A SLOW FIRERATE that make up for their speed and or penetration. Like the marder fast fire rate no pen. The puma. High pen semi fast firerate. The only tank that comes close to the xm800T is the OTOMATIC and its at 12.0 it has high pen high fire rate but its BIG and slower then the 800T with only higher pen. The XM800T should be at 10.0. It will still work great. It will be more where it belongs with speed firerate and pen. I dont want anything about the tank to change its perfect as it is. The BR thoe. It just needs to be at 10.0. Ontop of that using it grinding it will be easier. Its a rat. It can take engines barrel and run or kill the early MBTs and they will be fine as they have more or better MGs and it dont take 50 years to return to where you were. Thats how i feel about this tank. I and i still hate it. But i love warthunder and wont stop playing it.
The pen in question
That’s now how it works. Most light tanks can technically “do good” at BRs much higher than their own if they are played skilfully or in a hyper specific way that only works in some situations some of the time. That doesn’t mean they belong there. You have to compare it with the competitors at the tier and what capabilities they bring.
At 10.0 do you take…
- XM800T that only somewhat works if you play it skilfully, in a specific way, on specific maps, in specific scenarios against specific vehicles.
Or…
- A light tank with stabilizer, thermals, laser rangefinder, and some combination of APFSDS/ATGM that can kill MBTs frontally from across the map.
Be specific… and in any case you’re exaggerating. 66mm penetration at 0m is not a lot, and it falls of quickly.
You can forget the front. Along the sides there is a tiny sliver along the bottom behind which there’s mostly empty space. You will need to be very close and right alongside, aiming at a specific spot where there’s one or two rounds of ammunition you can attempt to set off.
The rear is as green as you’d expect from 0m distance. If any tank gets here you’ve earned the trip back to hangar.
That is an advantage yes, but in no way justifies your suggestion of it being 2 whole BRs above the others you listed. Even counting the stabilizer.
Exactly. The Fox has a relatively slow RoF for an autocannon, but has high penetration, 110mm at 0m. Meanwhile the XM800T has high RoF but low penetration, only 66mm. The Fox’s APDS also loses less penetration over distance.

False. Enemy firepower, sensors, and fire control increases as you go up in BR - far outweighing any perceived benefit from seeing some MBTs that may or may not have slightly less side armor.
I already covered this. Being forced to play in a hyper specific way, in specific maps, vs. specific vehicles while counterparts at the same BR can simply point and click on the enemy is not “fine”
You’re entitled to your opinion. You can dislike the XM800T, just as I dislike some vehicles myself. However in my view your suggestion to move XM800T to 10.0 does not seem grounded in reality, as many of your arguments fall flat or fold in on themselves.
In game fighting against statistics are 2 very different things. There are small spots of amour on tanks that have 500mm of amour and others that have none shells bug game glitches and its not perfect. Statistics are an estimate all times I’ve fought the tank in gave they’ve been annoying rats that over pen then whats shown it still deserves to be at 10.0. Its quiet fast and fast shooting. Its not super pen no but its enough to kill or be as it should be per its calibre of tank. MBTs are light armoured round there and are either slow and armoured or fast and light. As is the XM800T compared to a leopard which is about the same speed as the T55 less pen reliability and less amour. And the XM800T cant pen the T55 in many places no. But the pen it has the wya it plays to fight them and how it does kill them is still a more then enough reason to put it against the 10.0s. Also you throw your stupid pen analysis at me when i can for a FACT tell you it don’t tell you of SO many places you can pen tanks. I reply on in game based knowledge and feel of tanks. Ive been play for 5.5 k hours i dont have the best idea of everything in the game. But i know a lot more and a lot less then a lot of people. And i firmly believe it deserves as uptier to 10.0flat. It will fight lights it can kill. And it will fight meds it can kill. It will also be a proper br to match it’s everything else. I played 8.0-12.7 for most of my time on war thunder. Ive been playing Britain Russia Germany America France Sweden and japan all form 6.0-12-7 the new update may change around the dynamic of the game but as it stands that tank dont belong where its at.

I can use the T54E1. At a distance where the protection analysis will say green can pen 100% chance. And it will not. And other places. It will show non pen. And it will pen. Based off senario. Most common maps. Map sizes. Tanks per BR reload speeds per tanks. And general player skill per leaderboard. The XM800T will still do better at 10.0 for the pure fact of it either will or wont pen. It dont belong where it is for the fact of early leos mixed battles. And any other tank seen where its at form any other country. Give it base APDS round and it will be perfect at 10.0. With where it is at currently its either a overpowered or underpowered tank based on country you fight. In 10.0 its light MBTs, slow more amoured MBTs and lights it can kill easy and be killed easy. That is what makes a tank belong at its. BR imo. The T54e1 fast reload no ok amour it fights it can pen good or bad and what it fights it can kill no matter what angle and what it fights can kill no matter the angle. The T55 and the french tanks round that BR are balanced round the same thing. The XM800T is not under that same balance. Its fast. Quiet. And either dont pen at all or pens like its paper. Its track grip to speed and fire rate ratio with slow tanks make it a bad to play and be killed by. That a better reason to uptier it?
