a F-16D block 40 would make the FM difference closer if not give the SMT the advantage.

Well, F-16s with AMRAAMs are the necessary counter for MiG-29SMT at 13.3, so I don’t know what you mean.
F-16 ADF with AMRAAMs vs MiG-29SMT is a reasonably balanced matchup. AIM-120s are better at range, but R-77s are better at close range, thus against experienced players R-77 is better. 29SMT has HMS and ADF doesn’t. ADF has a much better flight model, but only AIM-9Ls, SMT has R-73s.
More things are in favor of 29SMT, but the flight model is so bad, that it’s pretty equal.
If they get AMRAAMs, they will also get TWS.

fair enough. like panter said, i think a lot of the advantages and disadvantages will result in F-16 with AMRAAM and 9M being fairly equal to R-73, HMD, R27ER, R27ET and R77 MiG-29

I’d still take the 9m any day of the week, they’re just better in everything except g overload. Their irccm system works better, as gatewidth takes too long to engage, if it would be engaged on the rail, then they would be equal.
And given an sim environment, the 9M is just vastly superior.
AMRAAM is usually pretty good too, perhaps not equal to and R-27ER, but at the same rate, both nations didn’t use the same technologies.
