Why is there so much hand holding in Air Realistic Battles

I say it does matter, you are the one arguing that it doesn’t matter so it should stay in the game.

You are arguing as if when you fire a missile, the other players gets a big “there is a missile” on their screen. I am arguing that you are wrong in your examples as the change you want wont fix the thing you are claiming is happening.

When a missile is fired there is a giant red marker showing the missile coming towards you what do you mean

Okay?
You claim that people dont care you are behind them because of the marker. That makes zero sense. They ‘dont care’ because you are outside of gun range and they know that they can dodge your missile. Of course they wont want to bleed energy doing turns until after your fire a missile.

What do you do in their position? Personally, if i have no enemies in front, i watch the plane behind me. If there is action in front, i have to switch between front and back. Unless they are closing into gun range or firing a missile, i have no reason to dump energy. I guess i would appear to you as ‘not caring’ about the guy behind me but it is not the reality of it.

People will not try to shake you until you’ve fired a missile. It should be much harder to visually realize that a missile has been fired from the plane on your tail. You should not feel comfortable accelerating in a straight line from someone on your tail. The only reason people are allowed to be comfortable is because when a missile is launched there is a giant red marker announcing as such. Otherwise players would need to seriously consider the dangers of accelerating in a straight line.

Correct, people wont dump energy unless they have a need to.

I wouldnt call it ‘comfortable’ but if i know i can out run you, i will do it as it is the better option over throwing away my advantage to turn fight.

It is less of that and more of a “my best option is to try to out run the guy behind me.”. Sometimes it is safer to out run than to turn fight. Best way to out run is to fly straight and not make turns.

Hence they’re being handheld

You know you can safely ignore the person on your tail hence being handheld

You can “safely” run hence being hand held.

I see, someone isnt trying to turn fight so the game must be holding their hand.

It is never ‘safe’. There is always the threat of a missile so you have to look behind to make sure there isnt one. Picking the best option is not hand holding. If it is, ground clutter is hand holding because the guy at like 5m alt knows that i cant lock him so he just stays low and doesnt climb.

You are complaining that the other player didnt throw away his advantage so you could get the kill.

If you’re able to ignore someone on your tail because you will know when the missile is launched then yes the game is holding your hand.

If you didn’t care about the missile marker you wouldn’t be against its removal. Argue over its requirement in the game rather than this constant deflection towards the player skill of looking behind them. It’s irrelevant to the feature in discussion.

You are not able to ignore the plane behind you. You have to watch them to judge if they are getting closer, shooting, or firing a missile.

I am against you trying to, yet again, change game mechanics because you did not get an easy kill or got killed.
If you were talking about the old system, that was actual handholding and it was good that it was removed.

I sort of hope they say “fuck it” and remove it just so i can hop onto the forum 1-2 weeks after to see that you have made a topic called “invisible missiles require no skill”

I do not play Air RB outside of grinding CAS planes to play in GRB where missile markers are already disabled.

You are able to ignore the threat of a plane on your tail and can sit and wait for its engagement rather than taking preventative maneuverers.

What? What preventative maneuvers? You want them dump energy? Best defense against missiles is having energy and doing maneuvers prior to launch is a bad idea.

Again, following the best option is not ignoring. If they were ignoring you, your missile would of hit.

It’s really cool how you can tell when the missile is launched immediately then isn’t it

Yeah, crazy how easy it is to react to things when you are paying attention

Yeah crazy there’s just no visual indicator the game gives you that lets you immediately know a missile is launched right?

Yeah, without that box, there would be no way of seeing a missile being launched

Sure except for all the electronic warnings as well as the visual smoke from the missile igniting.

But I guess you like having your hand held.

There are zero electronic warnings for IR misssile launches, except on helis

Yes welcome to their actual threat in real life.
