Your definition of “paying attention” differs from mine.
Glancing backwards to see a giant warning sign coming at you =/= paying attention
The game mode holds players hands despite being “realistic battles”. I can understand seeing player names as hunting players down isn’t rewarded and the matches are boring anyway. Missile warnings are already modeled ingame with RWR and with the new voice warnings. There is no reason for the missile marker to remain in the current state of the game.
You’re complaining that you would die because you wouldn’t see the missile marker yet high tier has the most warning systems in the game for incoming missile fire.
If you think the current top tier meta is unbalanced then create a thread to discuss it. Your use of high tier as a justification for the marker remaining is illogical consider that it has the most systems to warn you about missiles.
Any half-decent player cares about a plane behind them regardless of the marker. The marker only shows up while the missile is burning, aka creating a large smoke trail. With or without the marker, they will have to be looking behind to see the marker/smoke trail.
Most players at those brs also try to bait your missiles. They will fly straight and once you fire, they will turn out of the way. With or without the marker, they are watching you and waiting.
Ive been mostly using the mig 29 lately, the aim 9ms arent fun in grb or sim because i enjoy watching the missile trails. I still want to name tag or missile markers
The time reward multiplies your current rewards you’re right that after a certain amount involvement matters more but it’s not solely time that is doing it. The best return is having Captures / Kills / Assists a trifecta, each gives diminishing returns.
1-2 kills is not when the softcap is applied, it’s more like 5.
So it isnt hand holding? Sorry you were not as sneaky as you thought but that isnt a reason to change mechanics. At most, they would move to the accessability settings. Then everyone would turn it on and we are back to square one.
I would argue that the spotting system giving distance info is more handholding than a small red box that is on a missile for 2 sec.
