Why is there so much hand holding in Air Realistic Battles

Your definition of “paying attention” differs from mine.

Glancing backwards to see a giant warning sign coming at you =/= paying attention

The game mode holds players hands despite being “realistic battles”. I can understand seeing player names as hunting players down isn’t rewarded and the matches are boring anyway. Missile warnings are already modeled ingame with RWR and with the new voice warnings. There is no reason for the missile marker to remain in the current state of the game.

Yet you do not realize I’m talking about Air RB, SMT and F-16C which is at TOP BR air battles?

You’re saying that the system of top tier air battles is justification for the missile marker to remain.

Use RWR and the new voice warnings to dodge incoming missiles. Not the unrealistic clutch of the missile being highlighted with a giant marker.

Hmmmm…??? Are you literally talking about changing the game mechanic itself, without any knowledge about the TOP BR missiles and jets?

You’re complaining that you would die because you wouldn’t see the missile marker yet high tier has the most warning systems in the game for incoming missile fire.

If you think the current top tier meta is unbalanced then create a thread to discuss it. Your use of high tier as a justification for the marker remaining is illogical consider that it has the most systems to warn you about missiles.

Ummm do i need to tell you that theres no warning system for any IR missiles?

Which is why I think you should have to care that someone is on your tail beyond waiting for big RED marker to tell you to care.

Any half-decent player cares about a plane behind them regardless of the marker. The marker only shows up while the missile is burning, aka creating a large smoke trail. With or without the marker, they will have to be looking behind to see the marker/smoke trail.
Most players at those brs also try to bait your missiles. They will fly straight and once you fire, they will turn out of the way. With or without the marker, they are watching you and waiting.

You might have to.

Back to my first question. How do i do that with SMT and F-16C on my back?

Ive been mostly using the mig 29 lately, the aim 9ms arent fun in grb or sim because i enjoy watching the missile trails. I still want to name tag or missile markers

You are rewarded for that. Time spent in game gives a lot of rewars. Getting one kill and spending 25min in a match actually gives a huge reward.

Okay if it doesn’t matter then remove it.

It improves the reward but not be a percentage that justifies time spent.

Name tags wont really be an issue when we get ARH missiles though, so im not that bothered

It does, time spent is the biggest reward after getting 1 or 2 kills.

Just simply untrue.

Im aware that the majority of the community doesnt know that, but im not going to try to convince you. Its your loss

The time reward multiplies your current rewards you’re right that after a certain amount involvement matters more but it’s not solely time that is doing it. The best return is having Captures / Kills / Assists a trifecta, each gives diminishing returns.

1-2 kills is not when the softcap is applied, it’s more like 5.

I never said that was the cap though. Lets just agree to disagree.

So it isnt hand holding? Sorry you were not as sneaky as you thought but that isnt a reason to change mechanics. At most, they would move to the accessability settings. Then everyone would turn it on and we are back to square one.
I would argue that the spotting system giving distance info is more handholding than a small red box that is on a missile for 2 sec.
