Why is there so much hand holding in Air Realistic Battles

Neat, good thing this game isnt 100% real life. At least IR missiles are still more stealthy than sarh missiles are

I’m very glad this game isn’t 1:1 with real life. That would be boring.

This does not justify the giant red marker showing you a missile is coming towards you.

It is also because it is the same system for torps and mines in naval. Your crew/pilot sees that missile/torp/mine and the marker is a visualization of them seeing it. Same with spotting planes too, your pilots sees the plane and is able to identify it which then translates to a marker with the name of the plane over it.

Ever heard of something added purely to make the gameplay experience better?

It is good, because it allows players to not die instantly when they don’t notice a missilebeing shot at them.

Yes that is why I’m against removing name tags.

The missile warning marker long lost its point after the introduction of RWR and other electronic warning systems. At this point it is hand holding for players unwilling to recognize the threat of a plane on their tail.

Yet again, rwr does not warn you of IR locks and thus it is not a replacement of it

Yeah we’ve already stated this three times over why are you repeating yourself?

Because you keep acting like rwr warns players of IR missiles

I have never once stated that it does in this thread.

Again, a bad idea. It will lead to very boring matches. Gaijin can’t do close range sound right, something above you sounds like its below and behind you. In GRB some planes seem invisible against the ground, even when you are 400m away.

It would not make gameplay better.

Ah yes, my Mig-15bis with RWR. Not every plane has access to that technology, BRs other than 11.3 exist.

What’s this then?

It will lead to boring matches allowing players to gank in to a furball and actually utilize positioning?

I heavily disagree.

It might actually force players to not bunch so incredibly close.

The missile marker lost its point after the introduction of RWR. IR missiles are close range, you are within visual range of the missile being launched.

RWR allows you to detect BVR missiles thus the marker is no longer necessary to warn you of an incoming missile.

So…

Radar missiles =/= IR missiles

More like the opposite, players will all head to the centre of the battlefield so they have a chance of actually seeing enemies.

Imagine playing an EC map at 8.7, with no radar, or anything like that, trying to search for the last couple players.

Yet you bring it up when people are talking about IR

What?

Not every missile in the game is IR.

If you think that IR missiles would overperform if the missile marker was removed then state that.

I am simply stating that you have no knowledge of what you are talking about.
Some says “what about aim9m?” And you say “you have rwr so you get warnings”
