Last time i played it, it was working 90% of the time.
Yesterday i was on the “recieving” end of a stormer in a helicopter and im certain every dart just phased through me while i was evading.
Can’t say personally that ive seen phasing on helis, dude must have had some bad ping or just extremely unlucky.
Rejoyce, my suggestion for new possible SPAA was approved. If it gets passed we might finally have a SPAA above 10.3, and we will not be forced to take Stormer to top tier!
Wouldn’t a just giving stormer LMMs make more sense, as LMM is basically just a modernised version of Starburst
yes but apparently Gaijin isn’t interested in adding that yet. Other thing is it essentially dumbs the Stormer down into a F+F platform, which removes the gimmick
eh? LLM is still beam riding
LMM is Martlet, no? That thing can definitely self guide.
Narp, Thales has proposed an IR version, but nothing adopted yet. The ones operated by the RN and BA are the same guidance as Starstreak.
It cannot.
I think its just that LMMs can be somewhat used as an Anti-tank weapon and so could turn it into an ATGM carrier-esk issue like the ADATS had. But now that has been turned back into SPAA. Its possible we might get that in future.
The prox fuse would be nice for dealing with drones
Would make for an excellent 11.7 spaa for us brits. 250mm of pen is more than enough to get away with deleting light tanks from the map, but we can already do that reasonably well anyway so i really dont see the problem.
I wouldn’t even put it that high. It could comfortably be 10.3 with the current Stormer tbh, the range isn’t that great ~6km, so comfortably puts it under the range of most AA at that BR bracket
I’ve been living a lie. I’m terribly sorry for the misnomer 😂😭
Not entirely true
LOSBR/SALH sellectable
As for terminal seekers, i have not found anything about their implementation, only thing i found was a nose camera for man in the loop.
as far as im aware, its only LOSBR in service. All the other guidance modes are private ventures by thales and not been adopted.
You can tell the SALH and LOSBR apart by the nose cones, LOSBR has a more pointy nose cone, SALH has a clear blunt tip. As far as I can tell Thales likes to use the SALH version at expos so that might be where the confusion comes from, the original specification LMM was fulfilling, anti-light boats (eg fast attack boats and skiffs etc), for the Wildcat helicopters, required not using SALH due to target emissivity concerns.
heres some abit terrible quality photos to hopefully demonstrate the difference in the nose cone better than I can word.
LOSBR
SALH
I know that, but clear tip version was everywhere, and brochure says brochure, so SALH it is.
And, i guess. Shameless plug time
The SAL seeker (as far as I can remember) is more of a thing for Free Fall LMM, which is basically LMM with the motors removed, I think it was marketed by Textron in the US as the Fury?
Sus. Also don’t spread your name on the internet. If it even is you.
My guy you can’t link to a file path on your own computer to the Internet like that haha.
