If I want to fly planes - which I do - I’ll do it in a game mode it’s actually enjoyable in: air sim.
Ground RB is a fish bowl with airfields far too close, no time to climb and position with the rapid ticket bleed and short match duration and planes phasing into reality with their airspawns a mere few Km from where you’re fighting. Like, what do you think the outcome of a 3-5 minute air duel will be in GRB - it gets interrupted by the match ending before you finish a single fight.
That’s anything but fun. Flying in GRB is less fun than air sim and less rewarding than air RB. It also does not give any ground vehicle research. I could kill 5 enemy planes and get like… 2000-3000 RP … towards my spitfire/hurricane/seafire/whatever. I don’t want RP towards any of those - I can get that easily in ARB (or in a more fun way in ASB), I want RP towards the caernaevon/conqueror/fox/whatever.
I legitimately cannot see a point to flying a plane in GRB other than easy BP tasks and maybe SL farming (for which, I think, spamming F8U-2 and hoping for premium mig-21(r) bombers in RB is more fruitful for time investment)

Any br has CAS that could spacebar problem into the trashcan, anybody can jump into a Pe-8/Lancaster as example, drop a load on the problem I were too lazy to dealt with, fun? Yes, 8/10 times I get to drop it because that’s how easy it is, cheap way to solve a problem and feel disgusting? Yes too. That’s why I choose to stop playing certain things because it felt cheap.
IF there is a dedicated TO mode like an air only mode, we wouldn’t have to do this nonsense here everyday lol there will always be players who wants something different, any match filled with snipers is still perfectly winnable because both sides can have them and there is this thing call repair downtime if you say the turret cannot be pen, it just takes a different approach without a single press of a button to delete a difficult problem bro

Because I don’t get to play my tanks without constantly getting killed by something I have no counter? we have been doing this since 1970, how are we kept getting sent back to the beginning again? I though we have at least made progress going this far, how are we still not understand each other?
