Why do CAS players so vocally oppose any suggestions

There are several easy things that can be done, including increasing CAS SP costs, decreasing CAP SP costs, forcing an AF spawn for all planes, and moving all airfields back.

You could even add plane scouting for SPAA, or (this is controversial) give all non radar SPAA a short range lead indicator.

This could be enhanced as the air alerft function, whilst decent, could be made better in this.

The marker on the bearing is one thing, but it requires people to actually pay attention. I call out when they spawn, and when they start to make thier attack.

I also make note of what the planes are in chat, and if there’s multiple, call the number out.

I used to call ‘Air’ in chat to tell people prior to this, and always used to call out if it was a fighter, or if it’s an attacker, bomber, and if it has bombs visible.

Fiddling with SP costs is a decent idea, but the second part might introduce some problems as forcing AF spawns could result in easy spawn camping.

AAs need more than scouting to be competitive.
Seeing how starter helicopters (8.3) can’t be reliably countered (with a few exceptions) before SACLOS AAs (10.3) is pretty nuts.

War Thunder already is a certain type of game for a long time where most people avoid playing against opponents on par or even slightly superior to them. Most deaths in GRB come from CAS or massively undertiered premium vehicles, in ARB deaths come from much stronger AAMs than what you have to counter them, even naval battles PT boats die from corvettes/frigates/destroyers. Destroyers die from cruisers. Cruisers die from battleships. The gameplay is just so asymetric in War Thunder. And everyone only complains if they lose superiority over other players and only supports those changes that gain them superiority over others. Only for very view people ‘‘balancing’’ means making the game fair, while for most ‘‘balancing’’ means making only the vehicles they play at a moment more competitive.

Nope, it doesn’t. Deaths by CAS in GRB occurs 10% to 20% of the time in casual game of 10 to 15 matches.

It can go up to 70% if you play slow tank with decent armor and you utilize it, or have an average longer vehicle lifetime, the 10% and 20% are only based on your personal record alone, which is entirely subjective from players to players, we have players like FlyingTurret who we believe don’t die to CAS, or as low as 5% in 20 matches (which is so much lower than you bro, he more better than you I guess) because he can’t survive any tank to tank encounter, or constantly rush objective points with M18 and die to spawn CAP/CAS, that’s a playstyle that doesn’t try to preserve their vehicle, everybody is different, not saying it is wrong with that since if he is on the enemy team, we are more likely to earn free tickets or even win the match with much less effort.

Please bro, don’t become another Juicy “As long as I’m happy, I don’t care about problems that aren’t mine.” Kuuuki

No, i observed others from here as well too, get the same results. Not just my own results. Can watch anyone’s replays here.

Been a while since I checked in this thread, but now that the snail themselves have openly stated the numbers show top tier CAS is busted, and that it’s not fair for ground, feels like we’re finally making progress.

Looking forward to the promised, more powerful SAM’s being added for everyone, and I hope ideas like Cheaper CAP, Forced runway spawn etc could be implemented as a stop gap until such things are ready.

If the problem exists now, we need solutions now. Not just told to ‘Cope’ and wait months / years for new AA to be modeled and developed.

Have I been abusing people, or making out that their stats are trash? Making situations that change so I have to be able to have my reinforced ‘No point so why bother’ mentality?

Honestly, you guys make up all this nonsense to IGNORE the point made and deride the person rather than counter the point made.

This is a constant. It’s what happened in the previous 5 year thread.

That is true but the key element here is influence. CAS can heavily influence victory, even with 10% to 20% of kills. This shows how much advantage CAS has over ground units.

The funny thing begins when You start comparing ground vs air to air vs ground stats.

It’s not ‘bullying’ to be playing the game.

We’re not bad people for getting you, no matter how much you dislike being on the receiving end.

@БЕИ So anything at all, or just you spouting plain out nonsense…

If anything @Burgermankillz the TO advocates are stressing because they panic about not getting what they want… Hence the intense responses to shout down ANY opposition to their DEMAND.

Spawn SPAA bro!

And when pansir is on your team:

How is that possible ?
I heard Pantsir is the almighty SPAA that wrecks people two seconds after spawning, no questions asked.

You know something is wrong when the best AA in the game is still getting bullied.

I love getting revenge killed by something I couldn’t even touch. Whatever they might do to nerf CAS, these toxic one-sided engagements will remain as is.

Forcing airfield take-offs (or float-plane style “Just above the airfield”), moving the airfields back so that a given BR bracket’s average speed aircraft take ~2 minutes to reach the battlefield would.

It’d make information from the kill-cam outdated and it would heavily discourage low-stamina loadouts (like putting a single 1 ton bomb on a fighter-bomber without strafe-capability) as it turns into fly 2 minutes, drop bomb, fly 2 minutes, land, rearm for 15-30 seconds, fly 2 minutes, drop bomb and repeat.

More likely you’ll see more strike-bombers and smaller bombs that let you loiter and drop more bombs. Smaller bombs mean great precision is needed for kill drops and strike aircraft are slower and bigger than something like the F4Us and F8Fs.

It’s significantly easier to hit an A26B than a F4U and that A26 is not going to be able to bob and weave counter-fire nearly as well. On the flipside, the A26 can eat multiple 20mm shots and stay in the air but again, trade-offs.
