Just having a chuckle at the phony country that Abrams premium is said to hail from–nothing serious. (Apologies)
Ah. Altho the 4 dollars after taxes is not phony. It’s around 2500 HUF/hour, or 6.9 dollars. Now subtract 33.5% for income tax and social security and you get 4.5 dollars. Bit more than 4 but still, not significantly.
Why is this 2085 posts long.
Because Anti-CAS people are really vocal
That’s definitely one adjective. I can think of a few others.
You mean subjective.
“Vocal” describes a noun (anti-CAS people, being people, are proper nouns), so it’s an adjective.
Adjectives describe nouns.
Why noob players always cry about CAS? Is it so difficult to pick a plane and kill the other plane, or back with SPAA?
If I want to fly a plane, I’ll go fly my P-51 mustang or one of the Ki-s in sim or do ARB with some other american, soviet or jap plane.
Flying a plane in GRB gives no tank RP progress, and that RB is already painfully slow.
I’ve recently started flying the F-84B. I’m not the best with it, average ~1 kill per battle or 2 assists or so. What’s my usual RP gain? 3000 per match. Highest I got was probably in one of my yak-3 or yak-9s at 9000 down in tier 2/low tier 3.
I play a game in my cent mk 3, working towards mk 10. I get 6 kills or otherwise scrape together 2000 score. What do I get? Around 2500-3000 RP. More likely I’ll get 3 kills and a few assists or caps for 1200 score and get 1500-2000 RP, especially if the match ends early in a stomp.
If I take out a spitfire, I’m splitting that measly 1500-3000 RP reward between air and ground. It’s a waste for air as I could just play ARB and get many times that, or play air sim and have way more fun on a decently sized map (even if spitfires love to flat spin at my skill level).
Why would I play planes on the worst of both worlds - low rewards, low fun?
Let me stick to the ground. Give me a decent SPAA and not a milk-truck that can be strafed even by a japanese biplane while it’s doing its 7 second reload (that’s ace! Mine is more like 8 and some seconds. For 75 shells.) and driving like a drunken cowboy riding a pregnant cow.
That’s the neat part, players don’t like it when they are killed by something they have no counter, you ain’t going to do shit if I use my A-10 and launch AGM from outer space to kill you in your T-80s, there is no amount of skills to prevent you from such death. This has made things a lot worse for players who likes to playground vehicle and are not allowed to have fun in them because they are forced to entertain this group of people, sort of like if you want to move up in this music industry, you will have to surrender your bottom to p diddy lol
Man, I understand you because you’re new to the game, but I don’t think the problem with dying is CAS.
I believe Gaijin should listen to players who use both tanks and CAS. It seems you’re only looking at it from a tanker’s perspective. CAS isn’t as easy as you think; you should try to do CAS and look how it is
Man I think you never played with A10 to say this nonsense
I play warthunder primarily to fly planes, mostly with intent of doing so in sim. I initially got into ground because I grew to hate ARB as america air, and then because british tanks make good SL so it helps me pay for sim spawn costs.
I may not use them for GRB, but I have done groundpounding in sim with both bombs and guns to try and win objectives.
Also, have you even read my post? You havn’t responded to any of the points I’ve made, merely regugitated your canned response as if it were at all relevant to what I’ve said - which is: Why should I fly planes in a game mode that is neither fun for flying planes (map is utterly tiny, airfields are too close together, matches end too quickly for proper energy fighting and mind games plus mouse aim often does things I didn’t want it to do while joystick gives me way more control) nor rewarding (I can get 9K RP matches for my plane for good flying, 3K for average/bad. I can get 2K RP for planes AND air for doing average, split between the two).
this is why I think people who doenst do CAS cant have a opinion about it
Yes, I read it, but I dont agree with you. I really think its fun, and Its not the same thing than an Air RB. Its totally different
I fly planes. I don’t want to fly CAP. It’s neither fun nor rewarding. Give me a decent SPAA that is actually viable versus 7.7 and 8.0 jets.
When I fly planes, I prefer to extend away rather than get into dogfights and stay away from the battlefield only coming in to make a guns pass. Having airfields ~5 km away from the battlefield makes that difficult. It also makes it difficult to lure planes into following me into a slow chandelle as the match might decide to end half-way to them getting energy trapped.
Or maybe I start scissoring or spiralling with someone and spend a good 5-6 minutes trying to get the edge. Guess what, match ended.
It has alll the issues ARB has but much worse due to ticket bleed and smaller maps.
So, why should I fly GRB when I got ARB for better rewards and sim for better gameplay?
Really man, so I think Its not because the gameplay, its about you. Because I cant do it really easy. And the SPAA are so OP, but nowadays you need skill to use it
Like I said, you are new in the game, the start is difficult, one day you will learn it
If SPAA is as OP as you claims, then there wouldn’t be total air dominance on most matches especially late game, this is a ground battle, therefore ground units should be main thing to focus on, not freaking turning the game into “everybody should jump in a plane or use SPAA”, I mean why don’t you just use a tank to kill the SPAA? it’s a lot easier than trying to avoid death by CAS when playing a tank.
That’s the first time I’ve heard anyone call the Ystevark OP at 7.7 and 8.0.
You got 75 1.05 km/h shells. They take 8-9 seconds to reload. You got horrible turn radius, disappointing acceleration and zero crew protection. I’ve killed jets with it, but it was almost pure luck/lack of defensive flying/wasting all their energy.
And it is about the gameplay. I just remembered another thing I hate about flying CAP.
Respawns.
Planes manifest out of thin air where you knew there wasn’t anyone so you’re not gonna get your 3-6 minute duel with a good pilot. You’re going to get third partied. It’s not the lack of markers, because I can survive furballs in sim because planes stay where you saw them and will move into positions that make sense for their energy levels. You might misjudge their energy and decisions and get shot down, but it’s fair.
GRB? They spawn in 3 kilometers from thin air.
My most fun in ARB happen to be all matches where both my and the enemy team are all dead, there’s plenty of tickets left so I can duel the last guy for long-long minutes. I’ve had the pleasure of duelling some level 100 fellow before and we engaged 2 km high 8 minutes into the match. The first time either of us fired a bullet was a minute later. Then nothing for 30 seconds. Then they hit me at 10 minutes into the match without any impactful damage. Finally, at 11 minutes into the match, I got behind them and cut their tail off with a burst with only 300 meters of altitude left.
That was 3 minutes of uninterrupted maneuvering between me and a superior player.
Another ARB match I saved has me engage a guy (level 100) 7 minutes into the match, I get the killshot 12 minutes in. That’s 5 minutes of uninterrupted duelling.
Where can I find this kind of 3-5 minute long uninterrupted duels in GRB? I can already barely find them in ARB with the 16v16 matches, fast ticket bleed and small maps concentrating everyone into a furball.
