Why do CAS players so vocally oppose any suggestions

Sure, “you the air main” with your 112 death to 100 kills on an F5E, or a 88 death to 74 kills on a F15J are a menance to everyone. I see your .79 KD in AIR RB I start to shake.

If you’re going to try and stat-shame people, actually be factual.

Also why pick only 2 planes out of the list they fly? Why conveniently ignore their zero K/D? Or their spitfire KD? Or their F4U-4B KD?

EDIT: Gosh, now that I see that its not even the same guy! What a kind of ego massage is this? lol

I’m fascinated that you did not even realize I’m not the person whose stats you’re trying to shame.

Good thing that I edited BEFORE your post. Anyway, do you do that kind of massage for free? LOL. Now I got it. If people are with your opinion, you are like their wife. But if they are against, OMG GET HIM!

What a loser.

EDIT: out of curiosity, I checked why I think you want a gground only mode so bad. No dude. It will not help you. Its more skill related on your case. See ya!

I don’t want a ground only mode.

I want changes to aircraft balance so that 4 planes do not show up 3-4 minutes into the match dropping heavy payloads onto the point you have barely even reached or dropping bombs onto you after you killed them.

I also want changes to aircraft balance so that using attackers and frontline bombers is better than fighter-bombers, as the current time-to-rearm makes it optimal to use fighters with only a single bomb as you only spend 70-90 seconds between drops.

I also want better SPAA because trying to shoot down jets at 7.7 in the Bosvark is not my definition of fun, and I doubt it will be fun even at 8.0

I wish to achieve this through I believe quite reasonable requests of:

  1. Airfields should be put at a distance from the battlefield that’s appropriate for the average straightline speed at that BR bracket with intent of 2-3 minute total rearm time.
  2. Payloads should have a signifcant SP cost, especially for fighter-bombers. This again should scale off of BR brackets as detailed by Morvran here: Revised poll on CAS in Ground Battles, would you play a tank only mode? - #36 by Morvran
  3. Make sure there’s a viable SPAA for every 1.0 BR jump, even if this requires having an “Early” and “proper” variant of the same vehicle to limit its anti-tank potential. For instance, falcon without APDS at 7.7. While loss of APDS makes leading high-speed aircraft harder due to 100m/s slower projectile, it having actual mg protection and reload/fire rates will make it a significant improvement over the bosvark all the same.
  4. (this is a+1) Make it so that flying CAP does not punish your progress in ground battles, and vice versa make it possible to progress through air tree without playing ARB like it is for helicopters. As it is right now, if you’re forced to fly your bf109 to shoot down yak-9ts… you’re getting zero RP towards your desired vehicle unlocks.

I’d rather have that KDA.

honestly left a better taste in my mouth compared to doing braindead laser bombing. at least I’m using every single control surface my plane have. unlike you and your “V-5-spacebar” cult.

the engine has a durability (hp pool) if the engines durability hits zero it doesn’t work and is disabled if the durability of a wing spar hits zero it breaks these don’t necessarily destroy the whole vehicle but every part has its own hit point pool instead of a vehicle having a general HP pool regardless of what’s hit its still health bars

Probably because over the past few years, the only thing that has happened is the nerfing of CAS: nerfing bombs, nerfing missiles, improving the characteristics of anti-aircraft guns and air defense systems, introducing bastard weather. Now 1000 pound bombs next to an anti-aircraft gun do not kill, but at most do critical damage to it. My Maverick just bounced off a light tank. And all so that stupid tankers don’t whine.

Pretty much.

And nerfs do not actually fix most of the real issues. But as the community at large seems incapable of agreeing on what the “real issues” are, and snail has seemingly washed their hands of the whole “TO” debate, its not likely a real solution will ever come to pass.

The problems in my eyes are 1) mechanics encouraging CAS use in petty revenge, and use of CAS as a killstreak powerup in general, 2) the counters to CAS being ineffective or too steep to learn for newer players, 3) the total lack of proper objectives for CAS other than just tanks, and 4) not full-committing to combined arms which is the game’s selling point.

Are you kidding? Is countering CAS too difficult? Even an oligophrenic can cope with this; everything is so simplified that there can be no question of difficulty in mastering it. Press two buttons, well, maybe three… And if you still move and even find shelter, look with your eyes at the sky. Not to mention the fact that in the game for the USA on br 9.0 we have one air defense system and the iconic Sergeant York, this generally speaks of the complete lack of competence of the developer, but on 9.3 for Japan there is an air defense system with photo contrast, and the Soviet Union on 9.3 has needles that have protection from interference… And on this br only a few have heat flare. Laughter and nothing more…

Extremely, especially at lower BRs. Unless you are a very good SPAA player, you won’t do much to any decent pilot.

For someone who practices, plays a lot of SPAA, experienced, the answer is No, not hard. But for those who don’t care, use SPAA as TD, ignores CAS, hardly touches SPAA, doesn’t practice, or just new to the game, answer is yes. It all depends on the player.

Adding to this, crew skillls.

With a tank, your slew rate does not make that big of a difference except for up-close fighting.

In SPAA? It’s painful to lose 15-20 degrees of turret rotation AND not have diagonal aiming when trying to shoot down planes that aren’t flying in a straight line close to the ground.

Seriously, crew skills probably hurt planes the most followed by SPAA in how much they limit their full usage.

And as you said lower BRs - most people will likely have only 1.0 or 2.0 in targetting at most by around BR 5.0 or 6.0 especially given how RP gains work and the inherent difficulty of gaining score with a exposed milktruck that has no real penetrating power and planes are harder to hit because lower crew skill.

I think it also depends on nation and BR. As there are definitely some gaps that are much harder to bridge than others.

You dont even know what you are talking about. LOL. Laser bombing on a scimitar. Average “Hur dur cas too strong need nerf” player.

The simple answer is, CAS players are just being insecure in possibility of loosing their easy life playstyle.

I don’t judge them, I would be as well.

Sounds more like ground player cant dealing with learning how to play, so they want to remove the enemy from the battlefield.

I haven’t said a single bad word against CAS itself, lol. But okay.

Sounds to me like it’s more an issue of folks wanting to camp and spawn camp against people and never be punished for it, which is something CAS does particularly well.

The less you camp the less likely CAS is to find you, let alone kill you. You’d understand that if you spent more time playing the game rather than on the forum Mr. Sub-2K-Battles.
