US F-5E should get AIM-9P-4

much better explanation of why the different isnt huge than i could have done tbh.

The problem with the F-5 is that its mostly in the american tree (really bad pilots) and a premium in almost all the other trees it appears in (also really bad pilots) so we get an unrealistically overperforming jet, underperforming in game from bad player use. Even without 9-4 the 5E could move to 11.7 or 12.0 in their current state.

If they stop it having the IR signature of a cup of tea forgotten on the kitchen countertop and made its turn + energy retention correct it would be a solid 11.3 jet

I do but youll need to give me a bit, though i dont think its the best visual as its snippits translated to Danish so i think im the only one who could read it anyways

yes, a few times. Gaijin claimed to “have information that says otherwise” when the source was literal performance charts and manuals.

I read somewhere that the F-5s had their flight performance based off of tests done by Soviets on captured aircraft (I assume from Vietnam), though I can’t attest to that as Gaijin doesn’t give their sources to the players (which I think is bs in its own right), and I believe that goes against their rule of “not taking Russian language sources for western vehicles”

Welp, yet again, Gaijin not providing us with actual material to hold them accountable

Selective realism when they want to keep a nation happy or sell more premiums (the F-5 tiger is both catagories)

Definitely not. Would give it further A6M-syndrome. Singular only acceptable fix is BR decompression.

a move up in the ranks alongside the decompression of the whole game is a must.

its raw insanity for such a (falsely) cold jet that turns better than hunters to be the same BR as the underperforming disaster that the sea harrier is, a Sepecat jaguar or a hawk 200 (that planes BR is just majorly overtiered its just funny)

That might be true for ML, but with MLD, I feel it has good dogfight .

No, F-5 curb stomps it in the ground. MLD even pre nerf lost this dogfight. MLD post nerf stands no chance.

No, I’m not saying it will beat the F-5 in dogfights, but it has very formidable dogfight capabilities. In fact, I’ve destroyed many F-16s and F/A-18s in dogfights using the MLD. Also, the MLD’s FM was nerfed but then buffed again a week later, something few people realize is that the MLD is actually much better than the ML even though both are at 11.7.

Same BR as the Mig-23s? Are you crazy?

It would be better than the tornados at 11.3, however that BR range is fairly compressed.

“It would be better than the worst plane, hence balanced”

Agreed this’ll definitely be controversial to say but I think the f5s are mostly fine at their current ratings. As long as you just ignore them/stay fast they aren’t an issue at all. No irccm and no radar missiles on the 11.3 one is a huge limitation in the average match. Just fix the ridiculous heat signature and tanking missiles sometimes, and it might be fine to get aim9p-4. All aspect isnt an enormous upgrade people can almost always see the marker of anything coming from headon. Really just helps getting side locks.

I would more like a general F-5 with 9Ls even. I mean, 0.3 BRs higher, you can get damn Pythons. So 9Ls on 11.0 would be decently fair. 9Js are not even close to all aspect.

it already exists as a norwegian f-5a

gets 9L and a kickass skin

faster MiG-21Bis with 6x R-60M and F-5A(G) with 2x 9L at 11.0
