Agreed this’ll definitely be controversial to say but I think the f5s are mostly fine at their current ratings. As long as you just ignore them/stay fast they aren’t an issue at all. No irccm and no radar missiles on the 11.3 one is a huge limitation in the average match. Just fix the ridiculous heat signature and tanking missiles sometimes, and it might be fine to get aim9p-4. All aspect isnt an enormous upgrade people can almost always see the marker of anything coming from headon. Really just helps getting side locks.

All F-5 fighter overperform remarkably and needs to be nerfed

The F-5 series of light fighter where just that lightweight fighters. They where fairly nimble compared to some aircraft of their day but their kinematic performance was noticeably dreadful. They had poor acceleration and climb compared with most other fighters at this time as well. However the F-5s seen in War Thunder boast close to 4th generation levels of flight performance. They perform well above the mark of their IRL counterpart that its just not fair for other planes like the MiG-21. The…

I would more like a general F-5 with 9Ls even. I mean, 0.3 BRs higher, you can get damn Pythons. So 9Ls on 11.0 would be decently fair. 9Js are not even close to all aspect.

Closer comparison is r60m, both are all aspect fox 2s with very little range and extremely little flare resistance, r60m pulls significantly more though

I dont think thats a Close Comparison at all because what Makes R60 an R60 is that you get twice as many per pylon and they do 30G

AIM-9P4/5 do neither, they’re just mediocre all aspect missiles

It’s definitely the closest comparison ingame they have pretty much the same engagement envelope with the only difference being high aspect side shits the P4 cannot do and sit at similar brs,

Yes and no.

R60s have better flight characteristics but the P4s have some semblance of flare rejection.
(Less about ignoring the targets flares and more about ignoring other stray heat sources in the area)
