Use them stealth. Also its IRCCM works fine, its not 100% unflarable but it works.

R-77 is far from worse by a large margin. The additional range advantage for the AIM120 does not matter as much as you make it seem in a game situation, as all missiles will be fired at a lower range than their max.
R-77s performing well at closer ranges isn’t up for debate; that’s a fact. It’s like saying an F15 should be fast but it isn’t because a Mig 25, or a SR-71 is faster, and that’s just foolish.

They can carry the most missiles in the game, they have some of the best radars combined with the best missiles in the game. Best WVR missile, (R-73), Best BVR missile, (R-27ER). The only thing Russia does not have that’s the absolute crème de la crème of missiles is their Fox 3 (R-77). With it being outranged, however, still crushing the “better” fox 3’s when you get down to lower ranges.

Moot points, this doesnt overcome the inherent issues of the jets, and this is again, something you’d want in addition to a good jet, not something to boast about as the pro’s of it.

Not that it matters much if you want to take 12 missiles half of them have to awful R-77s. I find the R-73s to be quite bad. They are quite slow and sometimes kill themselves with their thrust vectoring.
I am not saying these jets can’t get kills. They can. But they are simply worse at it.

I bring 4 x R-73, 2 x R-27ET, 1 x R-27 ER, 5 x R-77.
For me its the contrary. Their IRCCM is quite good and its TVC is a life saver in dogfights.

I find the shut eye IRCCM to be much better. Sure an R-73 will get someone who hasn’t turned off their afterburner or flares 0.3s before getting smacked, but I don’t think that is representative of their performance. First shot would probably be possible with a AIM-9L, flare resistance wise.

In the first clip, the F-15 was flaring from 3km away. The 9L wouldn’t have tracked.

btw I meant in the clip against the J-10. That one is first for me.
The current issues need to be fixed first, like the flight models, otherwise majority of the jets coming in the future will still be gimped by it. Especially considering how many use the Mig-29 or Su-27 aiframe.

Yes the missiles are evil, but otherwise it is not that good alone against fighters.
The MiG-29 AFAIK is the most accurate FM in top tier, they can do nothing to make it better. Until the MiG-29M which gets better engines and an improved airframe.
I am thinking it’s time for Gaijins pendulum of balance to swing to REDFOR again.
