Yes, because the only ones Gaijin have added to china so far have been glorified exports, there has been no chinese modifications made except the MAWs on the J-11A, besides that both are just Su-27Sk but one has R-77s

Maybe eventually China will get stuff like the J-16, but that’s kinda far away.
It is rational to assume that gaijin wants to nickel and dime players with maximum grind. Why jump to Su30SM when they can release a few more 400k RP Su-27 variants?

better at dogfighting is a gross semplification, they had an advantage in some places and disadvantage in others, su 27 and mig 29 are not the super maneuverable upgrades yet.
yeah r77 arent the best, but they pull 50 gs(which isnt realistic but its fine for balance), theyre arguably the best at short range, which is alot of the game.
already by the next chinese flanker unless its a base model su 33 china is going to have better ones, even the “modern” su 35 isnt a match to chinese flankers

Even then, the chinese will get Su-35s anyway, so not only will their be better, but they also get the cream of the crop from russia

Well they’re terrible ingame at dog fighting when they should be very good, like they are irl. The Su-27 and Mig-29 are known for great flight performance.

The range is too poor to challenge basically any other Fox 3 at range, and no, short range isn’t most of the game. And they’re not even the best at short range, that goes to the Mica EM.
i mean they arent particularly better than most of their contemporaries. they their pros and cons.

I mean, there is cons, but ingame, it is exclusively just cons, they have terrible flight performance and basically can’t out-dogfight any other Fourth Gen aircraft. Irl, they are known for their food flight performance.
