While i do understand that teamwork isn’t for everybody, just like doing certain activities in a match isn’t, i made the post to suggest changes that would encourage teamwork by making it more appealing through rewards. For example by flying close to teammates.
Spawns and certain planes as you described have a massive advantage with the the “Air Defense Fighter” for example. This is an issue that creates imbalance and would also need to be looked at. Good point.
As frontline bombers have an advantage on reaching the bombing targets faster, due to mostly being faster than heavy bombers, and the bombing points having the same health pool and none requiring bigger bomb loads to be taken out.
Overall the rewards being same for objectives in a match regardless of what plane is used to complete them is part of the core issue. There is no reason currently to take out AI ground targets using a plane that is specialized in that, as rewards are the same for another plane of a different class and role. Hence i was suggesting having reward multipliers for completing objectives ie. destroying ground targets with strike aircraft. This could be taken further by having a slight reward multiplier reduction for planes not designed for that, ie. fighters destroying ground targets or bombing points.
Implementing this change alone, without other changes to what contributes to victory, could just push players to use planes that excel at destroying enemy planes. After all, why would you take a slow strike fighter and use it to destroy ground targets, if the victory in a match is incentivized to achieve greatest RP/SL income, and the fastest way to achieve that is to destroy the enemy team.
Mainly i tried to propose these changes without taking away from any players and how they want to play the game. While also encouraging to play as a team.
I believe we already have this in the game, though its only for base bombing i think, depending on what u take with you your multiplier changes. Even though not to its full potential implemented ofc.
Getting points for just being close to others sound really bad… so i just fk off to 10km with my bomber in my squad and afk farm.
At the same time, youre more or less suggesting not more teamplay, what u suggest is a major overhaul to ARB that could be at the same time aquired with a new mode without pissing of everyone not wanting a change to current ARB.
Surely ARB is not perfect, but please, leave the bombers out of the ARB meta.
Requirement for this is a certain skill level / knowledge most players don’t have. I could write a whole book about this.
These critical maps are best examples for it. They don’t know or don’t care about it. Lacking these core knowledge, how teamwork should work?
Well its also a gaijin issue, depending on the map you get realistic vehicles or arb vehicles… changing with what u can kill them dramaticly.
Maps should all be more consistend, having enough AI stuff to win by tickets, it can be planes, ships, aa, cars, bunker or whatnot… but its just super inconsisted… should be changed regardless of any suggerstin here.
I don’t like it, too hardcoded reward system is not good at all. Look at napalm tanks being the meta of base-bombing, its not even fun. Its just: “To do X, use Y; to do Z, use F”
If you would’ve bothered to read the rest of what you quoted, you would have seen fully what i meant.
Again, i would suggest you read the post fully to understand and comprehend what is written;
Not a major overhaul, just mechanics that encourage teamplay.
We get it, you don’t like bombers, but this post wasn’t about them alone. I would appreciate if you stopped spewing your anti-bomber hate here, instead, make a post about how much you hate them and argue with people about it there.
I have the feeling that u dont like that people dont like your suggestion… maybe make a better one :D
This one… is kinda dead :D
nothing personal though, just not vibing with it
Yes well the lack of peoples inability to learn anything to improve themselves, they do same things over and over again without any progression in skill level. This is why we have Zeroes being at ridiculously high BRs, because people don’t bother to learn any tactics to counter them, instead just turnfight them.
It’s an overarching issue in all of video gaming nowadays, the dumbification of games to require less skill/learning.
But what you said here doesn’t even require a lot of skill or learning to counter. It’s something you would learn quickly after losing a game or 2 because the other team absolutely decimated your ground units.
You can’t refine a feature where you give a player more reward for staying alive at the end of the match.
You shouldn’t give a reward for something that only you can control and abuse, like, you literally can sit on a field or fly at 10km and be “alive”. Doesn’t make sense.
But if you construct a mode around some objective… Then yeah, you can do that. You can give a reward for every bomber alive at the end of the match or every base “not bombed”. To make sure that no one hits your bomber or base - you should stay relatively alive and defend it.
Idk, my suggestion built around bombers and their cover points, it kinda would work just fine, I think. Less abuseable.
Collective reward in general. Don’t support sole roles, support cooperation and team effort. No need for players to “stay alive til the end”, what you need is a reward for the outcome - 4 of 4 bombers are alive and were defended/all bases are intact and were defended, something like that.
@Rinhord
Have you read yours, and some other people’s replies? Most are not even discussing this topic, you being a good example, going after people’s skill levels and whatnot.
I don’t like people that talk about things not related to the topic at hand.
You don’t need to reply to topics, absolutely no requirement to do so, and i would suggest you don’t.
I already told you this is not a discussion about separating gamemodes, yet you keep saying that.
Plus this;
is your personal opinion and views and a completely idiotic and unnecessary reply, without any relation to the actual things i wanted to discuss with this post. You can DM me about how you feel about me personally. I love hatemail
tf… u made a suggestion, i and others said what we dont like about it… now i am the bad guy that needs to be talked to at a personal level? i thought we discuss your suggestion? seems like not
Nah, both teams can get this reward. And also a reward for making sure other team loses their bombers/bases/something should be bigger, to discourage PvE. Or, reward could vary depending on your class.
For bombers, they shouldn’t have a reward for “amount of bombers alive/amount of bases alive” at the end. They should get extra reward for amount of enemy bases bombed, so they are encouraged to do their work and bomb the targets.
For fighters/interceptors - they get a reward for amount of ally bombers and bases alive. So they are encouraged to do their work and save bases from enemy bombers and save ally bombers on their mission to bomb enemy bases.
So that bombers will try to make sure an enemy gets less points, and fighters will try to make sure you have more points.
So why they are loosing thousands of battles without learning anything?
Poland/Sicily/Tunisia again: Event time, Wyvern spam, only scorepoints count. Why every Wyvern is flying straight to a base? I don’t get it at all. 5 pillboxes give you more scorepoints than a base, additionally it increases your chance to win, gives you 30% more rewards. Additionally you need less time. Additionally you have a higher chance to survive.
And now I should play even more team with those players?
This is why i think reward multipliers for doing actions based on your planes role should be implemented. For example; strike aircraft getting higher rewards for destroying ground targets, bombers for bombing bases and fighters/interceptors for destruction of enemy planes. To encourage using your plane in it’s designed role to help the team win.
That would be boring. You should rather give players more opportunities and also give them a solid understandable objective. So they will use there opportunities to contribute into the objective.
